I heard the interior cleaners will crack your dash and that the tire foam will remove the black out of your tires. what about theires other products?!?!? like the carwash soap. i use it all the time

Being that the material used to make tires is black itself, I fail to see how a product could remove it??? Plus there's a special "cleaning issues" section on the top of this forum. See? Just under the JDM part?

There you go.

i doubt it...i have been using armorall for my dash and the ones they have for leather on my GT-S...it's been serving me well so far all this time...i'm sure there's better, more expensive ones out there, but by no means is armorall going to do the OPPOSITE of what's actually SUPPOSED to do

For the most cases tires get bronze-purple due to exposure to direct sun-light, ozone, salt and humidity. So in sea-side areas it's a common thing. I have never in my life heard of a product that would have this effect. On the contrary, as this discoloration is on the very top layer of the tire, products are usually used to remove these things.

i would say using Armor All is better than nothing but the thing about Armor All is if you stop using it, you will notice much more quickly since it seems to "dries out" quicker than other products

for Tire: Black Magic Tire Wet Shine (pretty common now since most people know its good stuff) for Tires

for Interior: Vinylex Lexol

windows: Windows are tricky since getting them completely clean is not an easy task esp. for those who live in Big Cities due to more pollutants in the air but Invisible Glass is pretty good stuff

imo...its cheaper to buy the higher end stuff because you'll end up using less, doing it properly, and it just looks better

I use meguiars insane tire shine, invisible glass, meguiars rich leather cleaner/conditioner, armour all cleaning wipes and protectant wipes..and their glass wipes on clear plastic. Armour all protectant wipes don't seem to last too long, probably would recommend the spray over those.

ive also heard that armorall is not good for the dash but ive been using it for sometime with no issues. But since then, ive been using baby wipes for the dash and seems to be much safer and works just as good for cleaning purposes. Im sure they are ok to use on anything if they are used on babys butts and other parts!

I dont ever use the armoral dash protectant shine stuff though cause i just dont like the look of oil all over the dash....

I've been using Armor All for years with zero problems. I would highly doubt a product that has been used by many for so long would just now begin to have issues.

Some time ago Armor All got a reputation for chemically hardening plastics, which led to them breaking apart when flexed or when they were exposed to variations in heat and cold, such as occurred with the mentioned dashboards. The reputation was widespread, and apparently they deserved that reputation.

On another forum it was recently said Armor All have changed the formula, and there are good reports about it now (could be pure speculation though).

Armor All contains harmful dimethyl silicone oils and petroleum distillates. In other words, rather than restoring materials back to original condition, the "cleaners" (petroleum distillates) will remove the protective coating, and let the "protectant" (harmful dimenthyl silicone oils) add greasy residue.

Bottom line is, there are plenty of other brands out there (Mothers, Meguiars, etc.) that are a little more costly (but honestly, unless you clean your car a lot, the products you buy should last a while), but have never really had a negative reputation, and may be worth a look.

I didn't know that.. maybe I'll try Meguiars. I hate picking a brand there's too many.

i use turtlewax to wax my car and it contains petroleum distillates, so its really doing harm?

Unless it says interiors, i'm using Armor All for tires only

Interior I use Meguiars quick detail. Wipe with a dry rag to get dust off, then spray to protect. Plus, 1 coat restores to new, 2 coats make it glossy. :gap:

Probably not because it's used on the clear coat and not on interior materials.

I think the bottom line here is that all of these products do help.

However some last longer than others.

I'm most certain a car not treated to Armorall VS one that is treated would crack a lot sooner.

Some products don't help and cause more harm than good as I stated above with the ingredients in Armor All.

Also, some products don't really protect as they state, and instead just add a greasy film that makes the surface "look" clean and new.

And I would almost be certain that over a time span of ten years, if you had two cars, one treated with Armor All and one never treated with anything, if Armor All still contains those harmful ingredients, it will cause premature wear on the surfaces.
