haha, oh us current tibby owners, 1. yes we hate the 07/08 front bumpers, although a company called Hana makes a body kit/front bumper and it makes the 07/08 tiburons look AMAZING!:) and 2, we are waiting on a little something known as the genesis coupe :) perhaps u have heard of it, 6 cyl 300plus hp RWD!!!

and everyone on the tiburon forum is saying the 2.7 tiburons smoke the celica gt and its a drivers race with the gt-s unless the gt-s can land in lift in every gear?? so im pretty sure the 2.7 can beat the celica gt especially since my 420A powered eclipse beat one ?? but i can def. see the gt-s winning. not the gt tho. although im sure it comes down to conditions and driver alot too.

a drivers race vs a gts keep racing girls in automatics and gt celicas you have no idea about the beat down you would get by a good driver in a gts the tibby is a joke. come back after u sell your "throwaway car" the gts is closely compared to a type r integra. how in the hell is it a drivers race with 5 hp less in the tib and about 400

and as i was doing some research for this ever brilliant bench race, the 1/4 mile time for the celica gt is 16.5, the tiburon gt is 15.7, we have had ppl get 15.5 but i will leave it at 15.7 since there is other websites that say that. and i have seen with practice the celica gt-s can do a 15.4, so yeah like i said, its going to be a drivers race between the tiburon gt and the celica gt-s.

but in the end, who cares, both cars are running 15s which isnt good at all.

i like the tiburon thats why i picked it, i dont care if it doesnt cost a lot, after driving around my dsm as a daily for a few years, i was sick of the down time and anyone that has a dsm knows exactly what i mean. and so far this tiburon has never broken on me ever. it runs strong and the torque is fun, as well as the manual transmission.

and i will let u think what u want about what i own because i know what i have and i dont need to prove anything to you, lol

when i came on here, which, as you can tell by my join date, i was on this forum for a while, i didnt just join to post that celica. and i dont care who you are, if there was a tiburon that had that done to it, it would be called gay by us as well.

the entire point of this thread was about that stupid looking celica. then you start bashing on hyundai for no reason at all so yeah im going to defend it. then me and you got in a whole thing, haha

i just dont like when people call hyundai garbage, i mean yeah, 90s hyundai is garbage, but from 2000 on, hyundai has made tons of leaps and bounds and is rated right now number 3 by jd power in initial quality.

and the current line up from hyundai has some real nice vehicles, obviously you all dont like the tiburon which i do, but look at the santa fe and the veracruz, those suvs are real nice, especially the veracruz.

there are very few new cars out i dont like, the ford line up of a cars im not really a fan of, and i def. dont like the chrysler vehicles.

its all a matter of opinion basically.

I know this thread is 8 months old, but any car can be reliable. Just depends on how good well you take care of it. Obviously this guy had no idea how to properly take care of a car. Otherwise his DSM wouldn't be allowing him this "downtime" (which is code for "I can't take care of my vehicle worth a $hit").

All I have to say is I've worked for Hyundai for 5 years now, I own a celica and wouldn't buy the Tiburon for any reason. It isn't a good performance vehicle and the numbers prove it. I wish i had caught a pic of this guys yellow Tib with a widebody, he actually used electrical tape to make it look like air vents on some parts of the body. Anyways... Tib's suck azz, but I will definitely be looking into the Z killer that's coming out in the form of the Genesis coupe.
