haha....I doubt that it would fit. I tried to fit my friends bike inside....and I couldnt get the hatch to shut. It's one of those small BMX style bikes.

I've fit my Klein Attitude Race back there too many times. I've thought about finding a way to mount the bike, for extra stability while driving, inside the car, with both wheels off of course. I've never seen if it would fit standing up with no wheels, but getting attachment rods to secure the quick releases on front and rear of the bike (as with a roof rack) would be very cool, with or without rear seats.

Hell Yes it fits. It is one of the reasons I bought the celi. My MTB fits very easily in the hatch with both seats down w/o taking the wheel off! I would have had to buy a rack for the WRX or else get the ugly station wagon. The celi fits me my bike and my skis much better all safe and secure inside. I love my celi.

I have put two mountain bikes in my Celica. Just take off the front wheels and remove the seat posts if you have quick releases. Lay the first bike with the handlebars towards the back of the car. Cross the bikes diagonally opposite, with the sprocket sides down. The handlebars of the top bike will need to face the front of the car. Just put some towels between the bikes where they touch. -Ken

I put my MTB in the back all the time. I have a large frame with a 24" top tube and 20" down tube.

Just remove the tray, put the seats down and remove the front and back tires of the bike. This of course is easier if you have quick release wheels. The first time I tried it, I removed the seat post too. Since then I have found that it fits very well with it still in place. This means less time reassembling the bike when you get to your destination which is always a good thing.

Also, I suggest lining the hatch area with something first to keep it clean. I use a light 6'X8' tarp to line mine. You can find one at just about any hardware store. This size not only keeps the floor clean but is big enough to line the sides too which protects the walls a bit should the bike decide to slide.

The frame on men's bikes and 95% of the new women's won't fit like this. Either the fork/stem/handle bar or the seat tube/crank/chain ring (not seat post) will still be too high even with the wheels off. You'll lock it down on the skewers, shut the hatch and bam the glass is shattered.

You would have to put it on the diagonal and have a really small frame, mounting it as close to the front of the car as possible.

Back on topic: Yes you can fit 1,2 or maybe even 3 in the hatch laying down with wheels off.
