He's right about that,Exactly what location are we talking about,Orlando,to Palm Beach is a good area for me to meet. Tampa,is kinda of far but would go,and Miami is really far,if we did a meet far away,it would be good to invite,Supra's,Mr2's,Mr Spyder's,and older Celica's as well,because 7 Gen Celica's have really taken over the meets for Celica's and its not fair too some of the older Celica guys,like 6th,5th,4th gen,etc Celica owners that have really fast good looking rides and never get a curtain call. I myself own a 02 Celica GT-S,done up very well for a daily driver. But my race car is a 1992 GT-Four Celica. I love both Cars,but they both have there purpose in my life.

i have been discussing with people about the option. we normally meet at racerock orlando as it is central to everyone in florida as much as i'd prefer tampa but more people can show up in orlando. however racerock recently closed. I know kamispeed had a meet but was there enough room if there are more cars. normally we open it up to all toyotas and the mr2 club brings a good number. let me know what you all think.

Also hows mid Feb sound to everyone? say weekend of the 16th?

Tampa is good for me,but Orlando would be even better. If we had a good spot in Orlando big enough for everybody,I know I could bring at least 15 + Cars,Ranging from Celica's,Mr2's,Supra's,and a couple of Skylines.
I may even bring the GT-Four Celica out if its in Orlando :burnout:
I like the Cookout idea as well,I would love to have a dyno session. I think we could attract a bigger crowd of people with a dyno. I know I would throw some money down. Do any of you know who has a dyno? I can still put either of my Cars on a Mustang dyno so thats fine. A couple of weeks back me and the guys on the AllTrac.net board were talking about getting a dyno/Car meet togeather.
What do you guys think?

Id be down for tampa, i just might get my celica from TN this weekend, so i can actually bring a 7th gen :gap: Havent been to a meet since 05. Id be more incline to go to Orlando if i had my car by then. But i think Id go to a meet in Tampa for sure either way. Im suscribing to this thread to keep tabs on the date. CFT is good,but they don't have a lot of parking out there. We had a huge Supra meeting back in 04,and 05 at Areo Comp in Sanford. There was over 70 Supra's up there,not to methion the Celica's,Evo's,Sti's,Mr2's and many more Cars that were there. With the right people we could really pull this off to be one hell of a meet to remember. I figured if were going to put a Toyota meeting togeather,why not go all out.
Thats how I like to remember things. We can do more of these down the road if they become really Successful. So I think maybe we should talk to some of the shop owners on here,and see what we can really can organise,and give everybody what they want :bling:

I was at the last meet,No offense to Kamispeed but there parking area is very small. Now maybe outside his building we could do something,but I don't know.
We need room,and we need a Dyno and we need food :)
The last Dyno meet I went to out in Tampa was over at XAT Racing.
Like I said guys we need to Compromise and focus on a good point here.
See Titan Motorsports,and CFT have there own stuff going on,but I could ask if they would participate in a Toyota meeting with maybe some Nissan's too because they are going to want some business on the Dyno if you know what I mean.
Areocomp is also a possibiltiy because of the 100+ Cars that can fit up there at a huge meeting. Not to methion they have a AWD Dyno and a regular Dyno as well.
So how many members want to go to something like I have been talking about here?

Good Idea, but wouldnt that split the meet up, i guess it would bring out the most people from both the tampa and orlando area. Guess we will have to find the track schedule for bradenton and orlando speed world, see if we can coordinate the dyno before the track day. That just seems to be the most logical thing to do, ya know. Meet up, hang out, dyno our cars, then all go to the track together, and post our slips and good times. I really hope to get this celica this weekend so i can attend and participate. If anyone here wants to take control of planning this and needs my help, im more than willing to put some effort in and make some calls.

ok i think i am going to make an excecutive decision after checking with some places in orlando (Pointe Orlando (Central orlando easy to get to, had a meet there a few years back), Citywalk(universal), Hardknock(near UCF) or more likely then not the parking garage we ha,as of now all florida meet at Feb 16th.

For these side track means feel free to set up other weekends but I will prob start a new thread for the meet when i get a specific place but as of now the all florida meet will be set

FL,to come up as well,and people from North FL as well. I already see we have people coming out of State as well :)
I was not trying to split up the meets. Now what I was saying is our Dyno/Car meeting would be on a Saturday. The night before our meeting would be a Friday. Me and all the Orlando guys,and who ever else wants to make it,would go to Orlando Speed World to meet up and Race. After that all of us would go out get some food and drinks.
I was stating that driving all the way to Orlando Speed World from Tampa would be far,because the next day would be our Dyno/Car meet in Orlando.
I am just trying to meet up with everybody I can. The same thing goes for the South FL guys as well. They may want to meet up at Moroso Speedway on Friday night to do there racing down there,and meet there local guys around there area,because Orlando Speed World is very far...

To everybody here,I spoke with AreoComp today,they are down for a huge Dyno Meet the first week of March.
This meeting I am putting togeather has me and 4 other Shop owners working togeather on this. This is going to be a big Import Meeting,which means it will consist of all makes and Models,such as Toyota,Nissan,Honda,,Mitsubishi,Subaru,Etc. AreoComp,has a Mustang Dyno,Dyon Jet,and a AWD Dyno.
I will have more knowledge on this towards the end of this week,and next week. Everybody will be notified on this event.

I would say after our meet,we all cruise to some Local restraunt and get something to eat...
Its going to be cool to meet everybody. I think for this meeting I going to bring the GT-S,The Import Dyno Meeting I am putting togeather in March,I am going to bring the GT-Four Celica.

Well my car loan is approved and im picking that shizzle up from TN in 2 weeks. I am down for Orlando meet saturday the 16th. If we go out to eat somewhere, we will def need to make a reservation. specially if there is more than 15 people. So then we aren't forced to split up the group. ok massive snag. there is a builders convention at the convention center and pointe orlando will more likely then not be filled so . . . i just left a voice mail with the mall at millenia to see if we could reserve a block of parking in the back for about 30 or so cars (i dont see it getting larger then that we normally have from 15-20) so hopefully she calls back today or tomarrow. Figure it would be our staging point for hour or 3 then we can go eat and find a better location for group shots or we can just shoot there but its a nice open area easy to get to.

If that fails any other suggestions for location for staging. remember we can always move from there to get food or whatever after, we just need a good meeting place

normally dealerships are when u have a sponsored event like a show where it will draw customers in. we dont have that kind of numbers, sponsors, cars, publicity etc. that and in most instances dealers have to move the cars out of the way in order to have events like this as parking in a dealership is normally limited

I was actually just joking about it. I used to live near it and its like an off-disney tourist attraction. But they do have a birthday pavillion you may be interested in.
Also, Central FL Toyota is also only like 1 mile north of it on OBT, if you're still interested in the dealership route.

has a listing of all the parks in orlando. Could someone on this thread planing to go to this meet take a look and see if they could vouge for there parking space and if it would be good for pictures. Oh and if they have Grills and picnic benches for eating...

ok so someone brought this to my attention, that the weekend of the 16th is valentines day weekend (14th is V-day) so that may cause issues. Also with the complications that the weekend of the 16th are giving for parking, i am thinking of switching to the next weekend, 23rd. let me know if that affects anyone. with that weekend i'll try to get ahold of pointe orlando again as well as call more places tomarrow

Im good with the 23rd, I believe this would be better for most due to V-day, and not only that, we still have a lot of planning to do.

update!

ok not completely all parks are closed right now due to holiday so noone there i can speak to but i think i found the absolute ideal location. It is a recrational park, has decent parking, a pavilion and if i can request it, there is an end where the parking is a large "O" with the pavilion there and its at the end of the line so wouldnt have other people driving and would be an awsome way to line up the cars.

So i am going to call them tomarrow and see if we can reserve that specific spot and if they say i can reserve 1 of the spots but not specific then i'll get my ass up early to get over there ;)

Why not a meet in orlando at Kamispeed and make it like a celica / scion meet or something of that nature. Post it on celica and scion forums etc, could prolly get a good turn out. I had talked with Adam at the last meet at kamispeed and they had said they would be interested in doing it again. So if you want I can talk to Adam the next time I see him online and ask him if they would be interested in doing it again but this time with a bigger turn out. Their parking lot can definately house a lot of cars, i forget the exact number on how many but I can get that again if need be.

Ok post up if this Eagle Nest park is the def spot so i can figure out the food situation. I dont see it showing it has grills we can use, so if we wnated a cook out, we would need a grill. Ima try and start this head count thing again. It will help with the food sitch. We can figure out if everyone wants to chip in and bring one thing to cook and eat, or if we are just going to go to a restaurant.

I propose this. Lets create a list starting now, who is down for the meet in orlando Feb 23rd, then post if you want to caravan to a restaurant, or would be willing to do a cook out at the park. Something like this;

i am actually looking into turkey lake park which is near there. apparently the eagle nest isnt in the best neighborhood. turkey lake is a better area, shaded parking and grills. i am calling them when i get out of class at 10:30. if i get a confirmed yes from them i will make the new thread and we can vote on the food. i do belive that there are grills at both locations so we still have the ability to bbq there if we want. then we can distribute what people need to bring or just what cash people could chip in.

side note: we prob have another 10 or so cars coming from Tamparacing.com so its getting decent size which could limit places to eat but we will see :D

I think if we aer over 40 cars, then we will be over 60 people, so that would constitue a cook out, but if less than 40, we could swing a reservation somewhere. all depends on who is down to eat, im sure 90% of us will. Thats just my thought on it.

good plan. i just got back from class so calling the turkey lake park now. only issue with turkey lake is its $4 to park which would lean more to staying and cooking. the other park is free but turkey lake is better neighborhood, larger etc

Eagle Nest: $0 to Park, Pavilion rental will be about $60 or so, Grill next to
pavilion, cars next to both. place is 400 acres however the area to the north and east are not so good of neighborhoods. (MY MAP IS WRONG WHERE I
SAID SOUTH AND WEST ;) ) however there is a large ammount of park
between parking and surrounding ghetto :D I still think this would be more ideal but its up to you all. For this I have to fax over an application today to
get the actual price for rental and rent it asap if we want it.


Turkey Lake: $4 to park, Pavilion rental is $125, Grill is not next to cars or pavilion, Pavilion is not next to the cars either. both grill and pavillion require
going down a walking path to specific grill location. With the shade of the
parking we prob dont need pavilion but there are no reservations for
parking/grills someone will just need to get there early.

Both are fairly close to eachother both with different pro's and cons. So
please voice your opinion asap so i can let eagle nest know

No need to go to a restaurant if we are at a park guys, especially if this meet gets really large. We had a meet a couple years back in CT at a park and had like 25 celicas there. Everyone who went brought different cooking supplies, foods, etc... so if everyone was willing to do their part, we could just have a bbq/picnic meet in the park.

I was down for a restaurant idea, cuz id like to see all the celicas on a short cruise together, n get some pics. But as i think of it now, we could do that anyway after grilling it up n whatever. Eagle Nest's layout definitely looks a lot better for a car meet. All the spots are in one place (though there is a larger second lot, but not too close). Looks to be around 30 spots at the main circle by the pavilion. Turkey Lake's spots seem to be in small groups along the way. The only positive I see for it is the scenery of the big lake vs Eagle Nest's puddle. :p:

This is a old post,we still do this every weekend!!!

Drew is right,every Saturday we have are big meets out in Merritt Island because the cops will not bother us up there. I use to go out to Car Meets in Orlando,but they are to damn disorganized out there,and the Cops will nail you for every damn thing you do to your car not to methion you have to move from spot to spot and thats redicoulous. The kids are young out that way in Orlando and they do what they feel like doing,burnouts in the parking lot,driving crazy through the parking lot,come on now save that for something else. I myself and the rest of the guys that go up to our meets are a more Veteran prescience. I have guys that drive 50 plus miles just to meet up because they realize that its peaceful where we meet,and the cops leave us alone. Also I will let you know,having a Car Club meet is great because you meet more and more new People. The other thing is,we do more up there than just talk smack and look at people's rides,I will let you guys figure out what I am saying. The people that know me on this Forum know what I am talking about. Lets see,we have a good selection of Cars that go up there from Honda,to Domestic. Last week we had 6 Toyota Supra's,2 Mr2s,and 3 Celica's including mine,not to methion all the damn 240's,I love Nissan's too,Lots of Camaro's,Mustangs,RX7s etc. I don't care what type of Car you drive,just bring it,and I promise you,you won't be dissapointed,and you meet some really cool people. I own a 2002 Celica GT-S and 1991 GT-Four Celica.
I hope some of you Orlando guys come are way,trust me its worth the drive,Remember I use to come your way but,it just got to rough out in Orlando. They use to have some sick meetings,Club Nismo,Fast 4s,all that good stuff. At that time I had a sick Supra,But I am way happier with a All Wheel Drive Car Now.
If I lived 50+ miles away from are Car Club meet,I would still drive to it. I live 37 miles away now.

We meet over at the big Toys "R" Us Parking Lot across from the Meritt Island Mall off of SR 520. We meet on Saturday Nights at 9 p.m. We have plenty of Restraunts over by us,Hooters,Steak "N" Shake,TGIF's,Applebees,Uno's,Etc.
