well basically 2 weeks ago I left my house around 11ish to go for a ride.. I pulled outta my drive way, ran 1st and 2nd gear when a deer or big dog or something jumped out in front of me.. I slammed the brakes but with the drag radials on the front and the non ABS car the tires just locked up.. I swerved and missed whatever the hell it was went off the road, through 2 bushes which ripped my front bumper in half and then in the air for a few feet and landed in a pond.. a bio ass drainage pond (about 10ft deep).. I was able to open the door and swim away from the car, but by the time i got up out of this pond the car was almost completely under.. i stood there trying to get someone to stop.. remember its 11 at night on a back road and no one around.. I was freezing covered up to my neck in mud and water and I musta tried to waive down like 10 cars and not a single one stopped.. so I eventually walked to this house and the people called 911 for me..

so thats the story.. the car is totaled.. total bill of damage is 18,500 not including the engine.. I have lots of pics and what not but they are on all regular film.. my digi cam was in my pocket and it was ruined in the accident as was my cell phone..

now I dont want anyone on the board posting because people on the board k now how many problems I had with the car and it could look very bad to my insurance company if they were to find out..pretty simple.. my insurance company is investigating the accident but they are being hella slow about it.. I just have to wait for them to get done with the whole thing before I can move on and let everyone on the board know what happened as well as whats left to sell from the car.. (salvaged)

so please do me the favor of keeping this between us.. I told like 2 people and they promised not to tell and now there are posts coming up like 2-3 times a day with people askin what happned to my car.. Its driving me nuts and if for some reason my insurance company decides to not pay off my Celica then Im screwed.. so you can imagine my situation..

so thats about it, and before anyone asks, I still plan on running this website no matter what.. this is my website and I plan on sticking with it..

i hate toyota dealerships, even moreso cuz the cars/company is actually good, but the dealerships ruin the entire experience of buying a car or servicing it.

and to think the majority of toyota owners have to keep going there for service! that's probably why smaller shops stay in business i guess.

BTW, i was thinking for a while now of making a toyota matrix site...just cuz i used to enjoy running sites (i had a bunch of game/movie sites a while ago)...i registered a domain or two a while ago (when i first heard about it), but i was wondering whether i should go for it or not...i was mainly worried cuz i didn't drive a matrix, but i'm thinking more and more a GTS is goddamn close enough, and if cool Matrix owners show up, i'll let 'em run the site as they see fit...whatcha think? ;) (at least i'd be keepin it in the family :D)

my other question was...i got toyota-matrix.com a while ago. i was always afraid to put a site up there, can toyota sue me and take the domain? (they already have toyotamatrix.com and others i think).

i'm thinking of getting another name and using both, so if that one turns out to get me in trouble, i'll still have a site.

Technically yes they could. The words Toyota and Matrix are probably "intellectual" property of Toyota. I bought the domain name www.gohokies.com many years ago and was meaning to develop a website about my adventures at Va Tech and link to hokie related site and stuff like that, but never did. About a year or so ago I got a letter from Tech's lawyers saying that the name "hokie" was trademarked and owned by the college and that I was to take the site down (if there was one) by a certain date. I just ended up not renewing it. Coincidentally, someone has since bought it. I don't know if it was just an idle threat or if they were serious, but since I wasn't really using it per se, I just neglected to renew it.

Now, all that ramble aside, I don't think Toyota would screw with you, really, unless you put up an anti-Toyota site. Although you are using their names, if it is basically benefiting them, I don't thing they'd mess with you. I guess if Toyota got really crappy they could take down this site and any site using any of their trademarked property.

i know that I was told by some lawyer friends to make sure that I dont use the Toyota Trademark symbol on the website cuz they could sue me something harsh for that..
