like my stock rims , just dont like the color. i have a silver gts and want black rims. dont feel like buying new ones as that money can go to a cf hood or something else. so i want to paint rims black. have dabbled with painting in the past and it wasnt pretty. tried painting f1 fenders for my eclipse. ended up taking it to a shop. didnt have good spray gun though.just wasnt an even tone and got frustrated. ok, wondering if i can just buy auto paint and paint it with a brush.has anyone ever used a brush? is this a silly question. i know the brake caliber kits come with a brush too. and they look nice. so i was thinking if it worked good, how about painting spoiler black with brush too, as ill probably go cf hatch, so if it looks like **** , its ok. has anyone used a paintbrush instead of a spray gun? will it leave those stroke marks like im thinking. anyone?

If you want them to look professional you'll have to strip whatever paint is on them (use Aircraft Stripper or sand-blast them) and then use the high-temp spray paint or if you want it really professional get them powder-coated. Otherwise I'd just save up for new rims.

The reason why brake calipers look good despite using a brush is because their surface is textured, that tends to mask any paint flaws. For rims a paintbrush is highly unlikely to look good because of the uneven AND smooth surfaces. I guess :eatpop: is right, kinda like curious as to how the outcome will be.
Use a roller it will come out smoother lol.

My friend spraypainted his rims black and they look good, but he didn't use any sort of primer or lacquer, after a few wheelchanges the paint started to come off. Not sure how you'd prime wheels though? Lacquer would be a good idea whatever way you decide though... I would think?

Sand the rims, clean, then use spray paint.
Most wheel paint comes in a rattle can.
