What on earth is dodge going to do if they can no longer up the displacement on the viper?

Man........cafe sucks.....but this sounds good.
"Wallace said that if the C7 Corvette were to shed 300 or 400 pounds, it could use a 4.7L V8 with 150 less horsepower than found in the 2008 models and still maintain the same performance. Lighter weight would also translate into better handling."

I take all of this as good news. Less is more! A 3000 lbs Vette sounds good to me even if it will only have 400hp.
****ING FINALLY
Engineers are getting it
In 1982, the 1.5L Nissan Sentra got 48/56 mpg - why the **** can't we do that 16 years later? Because our cars are BLOATED.
Less weight = better fuel economy, better handling, better acceleration - and the part I like, being small will enhance the performance of the car!
What on earth is dodge going to do if they can no longer up the displacement on the viper?
Dodge won't give a ****. The Viper is such a low volume car.
Chrysler plans on importing Chinese Cherys and Daiwoos as their small cars, and if Chrysler sells enough high fuel economy volume cars, they'll be able to offer their low volume gas guzzler and not worry about it (this is why Porsche is set to acquire VW and why BMW acquired MINI - of course their worry was carbon offsets, not MPG, since they're European and MPG is already regulated properly - THROUGH THE MARKET WITH HIGH GAS TAXES).
Of course, one could also assume that Cerberus doesn't give a crap and plans to just strip and flip the Chrysler Corporation and merge Chrysler Financial with GMAC.

I like how some people are spinning CAFE into the "higher death tolls, since cars will be lighter and smaller" regulations.
I'll take more and more smaller cars on the road. I already drive a small car compared to the soccer mom beasts out there. Who cares?

No word on how the new CAFE regulations have impacted the possibility of a mid-engine C7.
That'd be pretty awesome. :D

I just don't understand why he quoted me haha.
I just copied the article kind sir. :gap:
IF Cerberus kills the Viper, it would be wise to snatch one up now and hang onto it.
I've never driven that car, but I know people who have and apparently its an unearthly experience.

Maybe Chevy can do a limited run of 50 ZR-1's tweaked for 700 before the deadline. Should be doable.
