Proper tire Pressure

I have 17" rims and tire for my celica GT. 225/45 17 I belive, what is the proper tire pressure? Is it supposed to be higher then what's required for the stock tires?

I'd start with mfg's recommendation for the oem tire and keep an eye on tire wear...
