Help! Loose emergency brake--

I just bought a new Celica, but the emergency brake jiggles quite a bit, side-to-side.

Yes, it works, but I've never seen a Celica ebrake with this much play, and the dealer is giving me a hard time about having it properly fixed.

Is this an easy to correct, and how exactly is the ebrake attached? (The dealer couldn't provide a good answer)

All info would be greatly appreciated!

i would think you could adjust the cable, anyone? anyone? Bueller....

There was a thread about tightening the E-Brake not too long ago. I believe if you try a search throughout all the forums, you will find the information you need. Some guy posted how to do it correctly step-by-step.

If it jiggles from side to side, I would think that it is the bolts that mount the lever to the floor. Easy enough to get at with the center console removed (that's a 5 min job for someone that has done it before).
