Hi All
I am from Sydney Australia and am racing my Celica GTS in a production car racing series here in Australia.
I have some knowledge of what to do to the car to keep it alive but ANY input would be great.

SUSPENSION - I have added Coil overs and a rear sway bar s thats all we allowed to do.

INTERIOR - We can strip it out and run a roll cage, race seats and harnesses.

BRAKES - have upgrade discs and pads F & R. Can up grade to 4 spot calipers but I thought I would see how they go first.

ENGINE - Now here is where I really need the help. I haven't bought these following items yet. I know that I can run a MWR sump, which will help with oil pick up, I know I can up grade my valve springs to stop valve float. I am running a PFC and don't want to run the car higher than 8500 rpm, and am not the type to rush the gears and over rev the car anyway.
I am running a TRD LSD and a Fidanza lightened Flywheel.

I have my first race of the season in March and want the car to be as bullet proof as possible.

Let me know what other suggestions you have.

Thanks
Sooley

It depends on which route you want to go and how much you want to spend. ***Forced Induction*** (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=199226&highlight=N%2Fa) or ***Naturally Aspirated*** (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=254003&highlight=n%2Fa+power)

I would think since he's running a production class FI wouldn't be permitted.

No FI in production class unless it comes stock that way.

I dont think you can use fuel management either( PFC) might wanna check on that. If you can, then go ahead and upgrade to higher compression pistons, maybe a port and polished head, and bored out throttle body. Look up the NA biulds on this site, they can give you alot of info on what parts are out there nad what gains you can expect with them.

Not allowed ANY internal engine mods or throttle body changes or turbo up grades. Can up grade ECU as long as its a plug in type.
Mainly want to make sure its bullet proof as to finish first, first I must finish (let hope first)

I'm not sure I understand you here. To make it bullet proof and durable enough to last hard driven races, surely you're gonna NEED to upgrade internals, such as the valve springs etc??

My choice would be mwr/acl main and rod bearings, balanced bottom end with circuitworks oil pump gear...for reliability that's what you'll need in order to strengthen the two weak links of the 2zz.

My 2p.

I can do the valve springs as they are not necessarily a performance part. Same with the oil pump gear.
The wording in the Tech Reg is

"The engine must be as originally supplied by the manufacturer"

I know they aren't firm on this and are happy as long as its not performance enhancing.

pfc may not be accepted then

No PFC is cool, as long as its a plug n play ECU which uses the standard wiring loom there is no problem.

I did buy the MWR Moroso oil pan today as a safe gaurd
