I am in dialogue with Redline about making covers for the armrests in the doors. I am considering sending them mine to use for prototyping. But I was wondering, in case they go get lost in the mail (I know it's rare, but it has happened before) does anyone here know where I could get new ones? Or used ones to be more precise, and could anyone here help me get hold of some if I should need them. If they can be purchased off a crashed vehicle f.i. I am sure it would be a lot easier to get hold of some in the US than in little old Norway. I am sure Toyota would charge me for the whole panel.
If you have a look at my thread on the Redline install, you'll see that it would be very cool indeed if the door armrests matched the center armrest. You agree?

i was going to send mine in, but i didnt want to deal with shipping and all that again. It will complete a interior more if the shift boots and all that are done already by redlinegoods. But i doubt anybody will sell those seperate from a door panel, unless their door panel is tore all to hell.

I guess just make sure you pack them good and secure so they dont rip out of their packaging in transit

Im in, i was going to have my local interior people do it but this might be a better (cheaper) alternative. I have some spare door panels too that I can ship if you don
t want to go through the trouble of sending yours.

No I'll send him mine, I'm closer to Poland that you so that'll be cheaper. But if it should go missing in the mail can I buy a replacement armrest off you. (Probably wont need to as things rarely go missing in the mail, but I just want to know I can if I need to)

Man if redline does that it would look amazing with the rest of their interior products. Too bad I don't have some colored TRD seats to go with it.

I dont understand, what is the big deal? Can't you just take them off and wrap fabric around them??

well if you want it to match your shift boots and all that..then probably the only way to match them would be to get it from the same place. If I knew how to sew i would make my own for cheaper since the wrapping is a easy job.

Bman: Exactly. Wrapping is easy, but getting the stitching done is not, unless you know how to sew in leather. The armrests have a seam running down the side and I want that to match the seams in the boots and center armrest.

I am also looking at buying some extra meters of the same material to wrap my cargo cover (with an emossed celica dragon logo) and roof lining. Just want to try to get the exact same stuff so there is no difference. I am going to ask Redline if they can help me out.

it will probably be super expensive to get that big of a piece for the headliner and cargo cover.

buy them from a junk yard and send that to redline

ghet2_gts: Problem is a lack of Celicas here in Norway. There are none to be found in any junkyard I've checked.

I had my arm rests done in a carbon fiber look vinyl and I'm going to have the door inserts done also. I'll post some pictures in a few weeks - I have to find time to get it done. The armrests look surprisingly good. The material looks like the carbon fiber vinyl that Redline uses on their products. If anyone in So-Cal wants the name of the shop, let me know.

I'll be shipping my armrests off to Redline tomorrow. They'll make a prototype and the if all goes well they'll have another product in their Celica lineup. When I get them back I'll be doing an assembly/disassembly write up for them to put on their site as well. There were a lot of screws, but nothing difficult.

The insert in the door would probably look good if it match that arm rest! i mean the bit that topshop do the CF insert for btw

How do you take those off? I'm going to be painting my doors and i'd MUCH rather take the leather off rather than mask it off if possible.

Geir

You have to remove the door cover, and there are 10 or so self tapping screws that hold the handle and the door armrest.
