more problems with tranny.....and we ain't the only one!
my dealer alone have 7..Celicas with same problems...

iv know all about the damn Transmission. i have already had my Free one, and the motor too. well i am in a Toyota Rent car...good ol' dad talked the lady into a Camery...and the Computer is in the shop...i need a turbo or i need some cheep go fast...

i am soo bored...i wish 9 would get here so i could eat...

What exact problems are you guys having and where are you taking it to get fixed?

well the problems i was was having consist of the following:

1)clutch was slipping
2)second gear would go in but as soon as i release the clutch and give it a little gas it would pop right out

3)downshift from 5th to 4th would grind no matter what i would do. double clutch, go slowly as possible, flex my leg muscles as much as possible to push down the clutch, give it a little gas as i ease it into 4th..nothin worked..always grinded.

so basically i think the major problems my tranny is having are synchronizers....the dealership (which is where we both have taken our cars for reparation, along with 6 other new celicas sam told me about)

sams problems were also grinding...most of them were fixed..now his 4th gear is grinding along with his 3rd gear that never got fixed completely....what do u think? synchros?

i think the problem is too much horse power...yes too much.

diagnostic for Sam is clutch sticking (in correctly installed, needs adjustment), or syncros.

Brian your problem with the grinding sounds like clutch sticking (not fully disengaging) when pedal is fully depressed. The popping outta gear is a problem with the syncronizers, the second gear syncro is not letting the hub and sleeve fully engage. all that can be fixed, not too hard.

I just finished manual transmissions and Transaxels at School...

Now for all your electronic needs i have a 90 average in Phase 17 basic electronics. should be a 95, but i read a question wrong. "It's a long road ahead"

the new tranny arrived..........AUTOMATIC!!!! not a 6-Speed Manual!!!:mad:
i'm sick of ppl passing me in a Corolla!!! sooo.... i told the srvice guy that i'll drive mi-piranha till 6-Speed Manual Transmission arrive!!!
At least i'll be passin' up ppl.......if my tranny don't die on me!

My car is still in the shop getting the engin rebuilt, hope to have it back by next Satarday......... :(

My tany is also doing the same as yours, Every time I go from 1st to 2nd, its grinds no matter what I do. Also I cant seem to go from 5th to 4th with out the same thing taking place. Its starting to piss me off!!
I wanted a car that wouldnt give me Problems all the time. This is due to the fact that my previus car was a Feiro. (Nuf Said! lol :rolleyes: )
I and my brother are rebuilding it from scratch now, and hope to make it into a 9 - 10 second car by the end of the Summer. Done it once and will do it agin. :)
