well thats just the thing. i know alot of people on this forum are all show so if theirs not enough interest than things will cost more. someone tried setting up a dyno day with nrg-tech in NY but we didnt get enough interest to actually settle on a date and go.
just to give in idea i think what they had going was something like 10 people 50dollars each for 3 runs and EFI tunning, the EFI tunning doesnt really apply to us though.
just an idea to throw around. i really want to dyno my car before i install my LSD clutch and flywheel.

excellent
i think we would need a minimum of ten people to get a good deal.
once we have enough people we can work out details.
i sent an email to the shop and ill let you know what i know when i find out.
here is the site
its still under construction

do i need a cam con or a emanage? all i really wanna see is what my hp is at right now with my sri and custom axle-back
h8eternal
02-22-2008, 04:43 AM
no you dont need anything like that. assuming we got enough interest we would just be bringing our cars in doing maybe 3 dyno pulls and thats it. no engine tunning just measuring for power at the wheels.
i have no engine managment either im just looking to get some numbers for i have some other mods done.

i would be interested if my car wasnt auto :(. my boyfriend might be interested in bringing his STI, or is this strictly just a celica thing?

my car is auto and i might go. it worth it to see your power seeing as how 2nd gear gives us our best power. (thats at least on my corolla not sure if its the same for the celica)

well then in that case, I might have to join you guys. Is there a set date yet or its just a feeler right now?

h8eternal
02-22-2008, 11:47 PM
doesnt have to be just celicas, i wouldnt mind seeing some other toyotas and some other makes just for good measure..
at the moment its just a feeler. if their is enough interest then we can move along with this and set a date. we need atleast ten people that will show up.

here is the shops site
and they are located in west babylon
im not married to the idea of going to that shop if anyone has other suggestions

well lets start by getting a list going.
we should set this up way ahead of time so people can have time to add any last minute mods or something.

do you have a time frame of when you are trying to do this? how good are they at tuning with pfc?
toyrolla03
02-23-2008, 07:03 AM
is that the split second pfc? if they dont tune it i might know a place that does.
h8eternal
02-23-2008, 07:04 AM
their wont be any tunning going on, that would be a totally differnet thing. its just going to be dyno pulls no tunning. basically just to find out how much power you have.
when were you planing on doing this? im definatly in if its sometime when im not up at school. another place i know that does dyno days is touring dynamics in st james if that would be easier for anyone. let me now when you wanna do it and ill let you know if i can make it.

ummm total dumb question but for the STI dont they need to have a AWD dyno? If they dont have one I can probably pull my dad to come with his car, I'm sure he'd be interested in something like this too.

Sorry bro. I'm holding out to get a baseline and tuning done at www.nolimitmotorsport.com. They're quickly becoming a Lotus shop, and will hopefully start working on my friend's Lotus, and my car :) .

new celica is full of ricers :(
It's true. :chuckles: The problem lies in the fact that worthwhile performance mods for this car don't come cheap, and the gains aren't stellar when compared to other platforms.
I'd be interested in this meet but my car is all for show. I have the usual intake and exhaust mods, but nothing else worth mentioning at the moment. And I don't really care how much my car is putting down at the moment, especially with my CEL on. I'd come to cheer you guys on though. :D

My CEL is always on, I've deleted it a million times and it just comes back 3 hours later. I don't have any mods worth checking my numbers, but I've never done anything like that before and it would be fun just to see what I got.

yeah, no limit is pretty good..they installed the turbo and tuned my car..im pretty sure they would let us rent out their dyno dynamics dyno if we got enough people..i know the owner fairly well so i could ask him about that.
on a seperate note..ive been going there for over a year now and never seen a lotus in the shop :shrugs:

if no limit motor sports will give us a nice deal. do they have an AWD dyno for celica girls dad?
what cel codes are you guys getting maybe i can help
CWK are you the kid with the red celica with ait hood thats always in the readers ride section of modified magazine? if so i added you on my cardomain not long ago.
my friend knows a one of the owners of RCT in college point but i know for a fact they only have a two wheel dyno.
im not really thinking of where to go for the dyno meet. at the moment its more of a matter of getting enough interest to get a good price and a nice turnout. most of the time half the people that say im down dont show up.

o lol you got my cars confused, my boyfriend has the STI and i was saying if they dont have a AWD dyno my dad would come down with his car which is a vette, lol sorry for the mixup.
i dont remember what codes i keep getting but it has something to do with my intake. its always on and then it will randomly turn off for a couple days and then come back on. I deleted it so i could go through emissions but then i got into a car accident so it didnt really matter anyways lol.

haha check engine lights are a pain in the butt. mine goes out for a while and comes back on. i think it's either intake related or the fact that my car is running rich enough to spit a small flame out the back

what intake do you have?
some of the guys on the local forum i am on are gauging interest again for a dyno day at NRG. i made mention about us from new celica. i think if the www.importfanatix.com guys are down we could have a pretty big turnout. fingers crossed. feel free to join the forum if you like. our toyota section needs to grow and im one of the few FWD guys lol.

My CEL is throwing a P0505, due to the IAC valve. It's probally shot, or dirty. I have a spare TB in my garage, so I'm going to swap the entire TB and hope that solves my problem.
