Take them to an autobody shop and have them spray and clearcoat the peices.

i know that TRD sells them in red, and i think their is another company that sells them in CF.

about the clear coat, ive sanded mine down and want to paint them flat black, should i clear coat it aswell?

on a previous car i used the engine enamel, kind of a plastic like spray paint. the thickness filled in tiny crevis pores (i don't sand) and it came out smooth and shiny (with enough coats).

the engine plastics aren't worth having pro-painted. there are carbon fiber replacements available and injen had a sparkplug cover offered before.

if you're doing the engine bay, get some sandpaper and polish up your valve cover and intake manifold. that'll yield a sparkling beauty...

yea, if you clear coat it will protect the paint better so it will last longer with no chips or minor scratches and it will give it a better shine look to it.

i got some engine brite stuff from pep boys and a wire brush and i already shined the valve cover and manifold, and i sanded and painted the covers, the only 1 that didn't really turn out good was the engine cover itself, all the others are smooth, but this one is all bumpy and everything. i used that 1200 degree engine enamel paint. i think it was duplicolor?. i don't think im gonna take the time to sand it all again and try to paint it again, im just gonna buy an new engine cover thats better, but like i said i cant find anywhere to buy a good one!

that pic's bad but it really doesnt look too bad to me,
I know u can just buy a new engine cover from here and try again...
otherwise I've never seen colored valve covers except for the cf ones.

Maybe its just a bad pic but its not too bad, get a TRD oil cap to accent it ^_^

im going for that clean OEM look
and besides my plastics
where pretty beat up so i just want to freshen them up. im debating wether i should go with gloss black like selwyns or flat black basically like OEM
what do you think. keep in mind my car is carbon blue and i will be painting my valve cover

hey speaking of the carbon fiber engine plastics where can those be purchased from?

If you can't paint them yourself, have a shop do it.

IPT used to make the whole set (I think it was 5 or 6 pieces), but they are out of business. TopShop is in the process of making 3 pieces (GTS valve cover, and 2 covers that form the L-shape on the left side of the engine). But they're not for sale yet.
