Ok, so whoever read my post "Big long under dash neon question" knows I blew the 2 multi fuses so on and so forth. After I went to the dealer on sat, which didn't know what I was talking about, and had to order them for today. I ordered 2 but only got one, blah blah, the guy ordered 10 more to satisfy me. So tonight I set out to put these damn things in and finally got my $hit straight and everythign was working, just had to put it all in place, so I am pulling all the wires through this dash and it's all metal, and one of the wires hits it, BIG spark, and...blew the damn fuse again, grounded out. Oh well, i wasn't too pissed cause I finally got everything figured out, and all that needs to be done is just hook the wires to the switches...I can do a write up if say 10 people request one, if not, just ask me how to do it. And I'll try to do it as simply as possible. Let you guys how it goes tomm, after I go pick up MORE fuses.

Please write it up. Use small monosylabic words. J = Not very mechanically inclined, but working on it.

neons under the dash really isnt that hard, clone gts has a write up on it, i followed it exactly except for i opened it through the a/c so i had more space to work with

Hey dumbas$....hook the (+) positive up before the ground....and you wont blow the fuse...even with a spark.

or you could unhook the negative terminal of your battery while you are wiring everything...

yeah dood u should not have the power wire hooked up to ur battery while your installing everything

and clone wired his neons from the cigaratte lighter... i dont like that cause u gotta cut/splice

you'd be better off running a power wire from the battery the get a distribution block..

so u can get am 8 gauge input that splits up into 4-5 10 gauge s... then u ccan run one of those to the front, under the seat/rear etc.. so u dont have to cap anything with those plastic twisting connectors

everything will then look clean and flush

or you could just run the positive wire to the tailight fuse in the passenger side panel so when everyou turn your headlights on your neons also turn on. throw a toggle switch in so you can turn em off if you ever need to.

or you can use the ground from the domelight so that they come on w/the domelight switch/door and use the +12v constant from the back of the deck

thats basically what he did russ. but he managed to keep screwin it up. hehehe.

i kinda think its ****ed up the only guy thats had tons of problems doing this is doing a write up on it. so here's my write up:

the fuse box next to the dead pedal. above it theres a red and blue wire. the red wire is where you ground the neons. you can use the blue for power, its a constant 12v. hook up switches if you want, and do a three way switch using a second position grounded to the car for always on if you want to have it operate just like your dome light.

the end. written up.

if you still need help, i did a post on this a LONG LONG time ago. like 6 monthes, but its still here somewhere. search. it has pics of the wire.

Ok everyone who is, frankly, being an a$$, shut it, if you don't like the neons shut your hole, and stop wasting your time by posting. cough ahem Mistritmeat, damn, every post i've made or every question i've asked, you just sit there and rag on me, grow the phuck up man, go sniff glue w/ jesus and look for icons to post instead of making fun of me for doing what i want to my car.

J3adSeed- I know I phucked up alot, but it was a learning experience and it really isnt that hard to do, if I would have disconnected the neg battery term no fuses would have ever blown, I never crossed wires just accidentally hit the on metal parts of my car and they grounded out, thats all. And If i would have bought better switches, it would have been easier, I just made it harder on my-self. but thanks for the help anyways. And in your helping instructions you were describing it with different switches, and i was literally thinking too hard when I was trying to figure out the circuit in my head. When I just went back to basic pos. and neg. principles it was easy. And hey if people want a write up and you can't think i can handle it or you think it will be bad, you have a say in wether it goes up or not, correct? It works, it looks damn clean with the switches, and not to terrible ricey, for those concerned with that image.

Black Gt-s 2002- if you would read my other post you would know why I blew the fuse it was an accident, and I called my self a dumbass already so you didn't have too.

Megaxman- I did it differntly than Clone, as explained in the other post, I have them come on when the doors open as an "option" controlled with a switch, and constant on with a switch.

Locust 13, I was already tapped to a constant power source so there was no need to run wires to the tail light wires, but it's an option.

Bottom line is, it works, it looks clean, and I can do a write up if you guys want me too. I'll get started on it, and I'll thow in pics to make it VERY simple for guys like GTS laid, because I've been there. Thanks for all the ideas and helps guys. I'll go take some pics tonight and post them.

I hope they aren't too big, and the neon "on" shot is when it was still light outside, I'll get another one at night

I think you need to put the settings of the pictures to public so that everyone can see it. I have neons under my dash also. I used the cig. lighter fuse to power my neons and hooked it up to a switch. I think that it's the easiest way to do it.

Damn I didn't know that there's a lot of people who has neons in the footwells, I thought I was the only one. The only trouble I had was finding a place for the switch.
