nope... best to leave that to a professional and have a custom fibreglass setup molded in too! ;)

What type of set-up are you looking for? I've got a sub floor in my car and can help you with ideas and stuff.

If you can install stereo stuff, and have some experience with building boxes etc. you should be able to build youself a sub floor.

You did?? How much darker did you go?

Well the sides are about 0%-2% from 5% and the front is a 35% from 50%. I still think its too light in the front because of the way the windshield is angled. Sun just cuts through it like its not even there. And the sides, well the sides are just black.

06-20-2002, 09:35 PM
yeah man let me know too....throw out some #s for me...after hearing JJ's sound system last nite...i want mines set up soon too

i know sub-flooring costs a lot but i'd really like to keep my trunk space....i don't want anything fancy either...just to have my sub sunk into the floor...no fancy fiberglass enclosure or anything

Delo, still interested in the 10's. Let me know another friend asked me about them again today. I told him my other friend is interested but if not he would like em asap. Let me know.

tell me you're gonna run more than that 10W6?

dsquared
06-21-2002, 04:02 AM
huh?

didn't you tell me that ONE 10W6 was good enough for a celica? remember i was gonna go with a 12W6 but you told me that a 10 was more than enough

besides...i don't plan on entering any sound offs or anything...just want some nice clean tight bass ;)

I should've posed that question differently... *edit - ahem* TELL me you aren't going to run more than that one 10W6?

THERE. :p

btw, how much are the new 10W7s? I haven't checked.

I heard the 10W7 slams. My friend said one 10 in his friend's truck made his shirt vibrate on the outside a few feet away. I asked my friend to get me one. I also heard they require a lot of power. Something like a 1000 watts. The 10W7 might run around $400-500 or so.

QWKsilvr808

WOW, 1000 watts to run that one sub? Damn. Hehe maybe I'll just go back to what I had before and run a 10W3 at maybe 250 watts. ;) The surround on that W7 is huge tho!

Hey anyone interested. My friend is trying to get of his subs and box. Three 12W3 subs less than a year old and custom box with black carpet for $450.00 obo. Let me know. I still have to check if he still has it. 12W3 retails for around 150 per sub.

k makes sense now...yeah sticking to just one...again, in a custom sunk sub-floor box....i was trying to draw it out at work today to see if it's even possible....i really wanna get this project (sub + amp and maybe even new speakers...deck will come later) done by the end of the summer but kinda sketchy right now

Delo might look and sound better with two tens.. Just a thought. I plan to go with either one 10W7 or two Xtant Pro DVC 12's I bought.

dsquared
06-22-2002, 02:04 AM
yeah i think two would look nicer but that also means more money to spend on the installation right? and uhhh college students are poor so gotta stick to a budget :gap:

plus i think the 10w6 is more than enough....wooyun has it hooked up in his car and it's perfect...not too loud but loud enough to shake you up...hahaha

I would have to recommend against the 10w7. It is true that the w7 is capable of big SPL, but they really hurt when going for sound quality. If you're looking for clean bass (which is what a 10 is good for) then I would have to advise you to go with something other than the w7.

For the price of one w7 you could get 2 or three subs of the same cone diameter.
