So i just had my drums replaced with my recent inspection. About a week later theyre all rusted looking. I think it just looks like crap and my old drums (i guess OEM never rusted) Is there a way i can clean them, and do something to prevent the rust? Im putting my new rims on this weekend and i want it to look good.

the word PAINT has never crossed you mind? dont paint em red or anything like that because they are just drums, go with a flat or gloss black

paint has.. but i liked the shiny metal look when they were new..
If i have to paint them to make it work, i will. but ide rather not.

probably.. i dont know the first thing about painting the drums. I want to do it this weekend when i get my rims put on though. I would assume that i have to clean the rust off first then spray them? what kind of paint do you use for drums, anything special?

Well i was tryin to say if you want the metal look, just clean off the rust then use clear coat. that way you'll keep the metal look.
but if you want oem style look, get some rustoleum flat black, also don't paint where the pads/shoes touch the drum.

What I did was:
Bought:
WD-40
Soap Dish Scrubbie (Those woal things)
Engine Black Gloss paint
Painters Tape
Jacked up the car removed the tire
WD-40 the hell outta of it. Waited 30 seconds
Used the soap dish for a good couple mins
WD-40 again
Soap dish thing again
Got a bucket of water and washed it
Dried it
Covered the screw area where the lugs would go with painters tape
Painted the entire drum (x3)
Put the tire back on, and I've been rust free for about 5 months now.
