I have a white 2001 celica Gt-S but for some odd reason, i have the 2002 rpm cutt off, but when i red line it, it goes all the way too 8300, i checked the VIN number and it shows too be a 2001... can anyone help me?

Don't think I understood what you are saying. Red line is a mark on the tach, nothing more nothing less. A recommended maximum rev point for shifting by the manufacturer. The cutoff on the 2000 and 2001 was approx. 8300 with the late (supposedly) 2001 and 2002 having the lower cutoff which is the same as the redline or 7800. Bottom line if your engine revs to 8300 no matter what we call that it does not have the later ECU in it. Hope this helps.

My 00 and 02 gauges look the same to me. Its ok, your car isnt screwed up.

alright what you are confusing is that the tach reads a 7800 redline... that is the redline for the celica. The rev limiter is set at 8300 in the 00 01, and then at 7800 in the 02's... confused anymore?

Let me simplify this...if you can rev to 8300, you have nothing to worry about.
