was promoted at work and been putting in full time hours. been very easy and laid back talking to customers and selling stuff. in the meantime, i've sold off my mac cai from my v6 and plan on ripping off the exhaust system and putting that back to stock as well soon. i never really got into the v6 performance thing nearly as much as my posts defending the car would show. while ive been saving up my money and awaiting my insurance payoff from teh accident, i've been car hunting.

i wasnt able to find a gt-s at any of the dealerships around here to test drive, and im not confident on even bothering to spend time BSing with an Acura salesman over a new RSX.

so ive been internet car searching at night and have been thinking about a cheaper used car, reason being that you can get a nice 96-98 Cobra for 12-16k these days. My v6 is worth about 12 or so, so the trade in and all that should work out pretty well on one. my biggest gripe is the body style looks too feminine IMO for a muscle car, but at the same time, it's a bulletproof platform for power with the 8.8" out back instead of the 99 up IRS.

Decisions, Decisions..

But I'm looking at this car right now. Guy wants 12,900 OBO for it, located in NJ. It's a 96 Cobra thats been kept stock, with 59k(mostly highway) on it. Here's some pics:

Wish me luck as I hope ot get this car in the next month or so if all things work out. I love seeing a stock shifter handle on a used mustang.

Looks very clean....I do notice some weather damage on the window sills...but that's about it.

Good luck bro...I don't think that V6 ever treated you right..heh. You need a V8!!

:D

Oh..and just outta curiosity...are the fender scoops functional?

You have a keen eye, I didn't look too hard at the weather damage myself.

The V6 was uh..a learning experience..haha. It's like those old "My First Sony" type electronics. Call it "MY First Mustang" It made good power, got good times, and through it I was able to learn how to drive. Now I'm at the point where teh car inhibits my ability around a course or at the strip, so I'm gonna step up to the 4.6 DOHC :) Oh yeah, I also learned how to work on a car through the v6..and learned to never do a header installation again on a V motor. :D

The fender scoops aren't functional, from what I know of..although they just may be on th eCobra? Not sure. I do know that almost every mustang since teh 1964 1/2 has had side scoops that werent' functional but were part of teh cars styling scheme. So Ford's going to include them as a display of heritage.

Yes, I do need a V8!!! :)
