Hey guys i just ordered my S. Techs. My set up will be S.Techs with 18's and 225 tires. So my question is will i need an alignment or anything once i get these installed. Also if im going to need ne thing else please let me know.

Thanks!!

Yes you will need alignment.

I would think its best to change the shocks at the same time so you wouldn't have to mess with it, but I've read people with S Techs and stock shocks for several tens of thousands of miles already and the stock shocks haven't blown yet. Either way might as well get rid of the problems at the same time.

Don't think there's anything else you need to do, other than to have fun with your new mods

You could drive for years but your tires will wear out 10 times faster.

You can get a gross aligment doing it yourself to last for a couple of months, get the Mc bolt kit for the front and set the rear bolt adjuster to max adjustment.

if u wanna use your springs to their full potential and have a fun ride go for the alignment but ur right in saying that u can go without it just going to wear tires faster which is no fun cause insteaad of buying new tires u could instead use the money for new shocks ;)

but I have also heard that you should let the springs settle for a while before getting the alignment, maybe im way off on this but thats what I thought I read

if well install, they don't need a "settle" time.

I'm sure it needs time to settle. It's kinda like how a new engine needs to "break in."

Just keep tabs on how high the ride is and seeing if it's getting lower, over the course of a week or two. Once you notice that the ride isn't getting any lower, go get your alignment.

The problem with getting an alignment before the springs settle is that after you get the alignment, if the springs are still slowly making your ride lower, then you'd have to get your camber adjusted again.

Anyways I'm long winded so I'll summarize this:
Keep tabs on your ride height for a week or 2. Once you notice it stopped getting lower, go get your alignment. That's all you need to do.

Settle is only needed if the rubbers mounting are changed or misplaced, if you use your old OEM struts parts, no settle.
