I have a 12" infinity reference run from a US acoustics 800D amp. And whenever i play my music loud, after maybe 5-10 mins the bass would just get cut off for like 2-3 secs. I really find this annoying. I did check the amp and i don't think it' overheating or shutting off. Does anyone know what's wrong? Should i just get a bertter sub? Thanks!

Loose rca cables to the amp? Loose power or ground to the amp? Is there a protection light on the amp. Check next time this happens.

Well actually i did check the power and ground wiring, and also the protection light but not the rca. I better check that too. But whenever this happens, the sub would just miss a beat or two then thumps again. Goes on every 5-10 mins. Do subwoofers overheat too?

Subs can over heat but they wouldn't cut out for only a second if they were. I don't think its your sub. Either your amp has a problem with it going into protection for some reason, there is a wiring problem, or its your head unit. Does this happen with the radio as well as cd?

actually i never tried playing my music loud with the radio. I'm gonna try to check all my wirings again. I'll keep you posted. I hope it's not my amp!
