To you guys who have installed them. What are the nut/washer sizes for the headers that didn't come with them? Thanks. I'm thinking about getting them in advance for when I get them installed. No way am I doing this myself. Thanks guys.

From what I have installed header before, you use the stock nuts and washers. But you do need to get a new gasket for it. You could use the old one, but it better to have a new one to help prevent leaks. I understand why you don't want to install them. It is a real pain in the a$$. Mostly cause it behind the firewall, not in front of the motor. It will cost you alot on labor if you can get it done from someone else. Maybe if you ask Boyracer to be kind enough to help you out to put it on for you.

Wassup Dan!

Hey did you guys ever have that bbq down there? I remember the post was just dead after a while. I think we should still organize another one at one time.

About the headers, thanks for the advice. I'll definitely look for a new gasket. Any idea where to buy one? Can I get those at Autozone or Pepboys?

I'm not worried about the labor costs, a place down here will charge me less than 100 and that's fine with me. Since my hands are so large, I'm also having them do my newly arrived TWM SS.

Take care man, and thanks again.

ok im ashamed to know either or you dimwits. First off. the bolts that come with the stock system screw into the stock header flange which has nuts welded into it. Secondly, the stock gasket is metal, its very durable dont go wasteing money on a new one the sucker comes off on its own, and is reusable. Thirdly to my knoledge the header doesnt come with bolts cause you dont need them, the header flange is threaded so its acts as nuts. i have nuts on the top of mine they are more for show than anything since the header is secured by its own means. you couldnt get some locking washers i suppose. best thing you should do fin is take the bolt to a hardware store and match it up with nuts in the store. hmm, what else. oh get some lock tite, use that when the bolts are all the way tightened.

Honestly do the job yourself. give yourself some satisfaction. he more people you have install **** on your own car the more work that is done imporperly on your own car. shops always **** soemthing up, always. they are nevr going to pay as much attn to detail on your own stuff, than you will. i wouldnt trust someone, nor would i shell out $100 for something i can do on my own with a little cursing and sweat.

Get some tools from a freind, have a freind come over, and buy a 6pack or what have you, and do the **** in a few hrs. instead of waiting on a shop. all the shops around here suck personally i wouldnt anyone. i only trust ken, cause i know the guy, and bottle, cause they know their ****. plus your new gf wont respect you at all. :) haha jk.

Go spend like 30 bucks. get a 9 inch extention 3/8th drive. a 3/8th drive socket wrench. a 10mm deep socket, 11mm regualr socket, a 12mm deep socket, and a 14mm regular socket all 3/8ths drive. also geting matching open ended wrenches. thirdly get a flexible ended socket 3/8th drive. buy craftsmen in case you brake one they are warrentied for life. and a 2ton hydraulic jack. with these tools you can take the entire god damn car apart, no joke. so any other work you need to do on this car can be done with those few tools. oh and a monkey wrench, and a can of wd40 (which you prolly own).

Dont be a sissy! :)

You guys, it's not the fact that I don't want to do it, but it's the fact that I'm seriously not good at even losening bolts and nuts. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to these things. I can install lights and that's about it. And Adam, from what you were saying, it doesn't sound like fun at all. I'll try doing my own short shifter, but this header thing is just too much for my liking. Besides, I think I'm going to get it done in Jacksonville at my friend's shop and do it together with him so I can learn how to do these things.

But thanks for clearing up the gasket and bolts thing.

Jeremy, where have you been man????? We missed ya on here! Let us know what's new.

Hey Fin,
Well I didn't know anything about the bbq. Since I'm a hour from away from you. So I'm not really down there,I'm really right next to you. LOL!! You might of thinking about another Dan you know. LOL!!
No, I'm the guy with the silver celica with the Japanese License plate and the OSOFAST plate too at the last celica meet.
Anyway, I wasn't sure if the celica had a metal gasket, cause I was refering to my other car that didn't. Sorry. Like everyone saying it is better to do it yourself, it mean alot more for yourself about your car. That's why I always do everything myself. But on the other hand, if you don't know much about putting header on, then I would advise you to have someone do it for you. LOL! Alright Fin talk to you later.
Good Luck,
Dan
