Alright alright, here's a question for ya. Approximately what speed is best to downshift from 4th to 3rd when on the highway. I have been experimenting a little and it seems like right between 50-60 is safe enough. I just don't want to over-rev the engine by trying higher speeds. I like to push my car, but better safe than sorry is my philosophy. So I asked here as this is the resource for such questions. I guess basically I'm trying to figure out where I can downshift to hit about 5500-6000 rpm and then still be able to pull significantly.

Thanks in advance.

70 mph will plop you about 12 mph away from the top of 3rd gear.

Hi Joe,

Many thanks for that info. Nice looking car you have there. What have you done engine wise? 15.008 is not bad at all! I am going to the track next week probably. Going to finally install the CAI this weekend along with an AEM pulley.

Best wishes,

Fin

Just injen cai, HS header, s-afc, and TRD exhaust. You picked the right intake ;) Exhaust isn't such a big deal, just unbolt for the track. Pulley, hm I still need one of those things. Anyone have an install guide? I hear getting the belt back on correctly can be a lot of fun.

Hey Maelfyn, how did you get your red neon so bright inside under your bumper. I did mine like that and the lights were'nt even showing. So i kinda lowered my neon bar to about the middle of the radiator. So from the front of my car you see the bar as bright as day. Don't know if that is kinda rice for everyone to be able to see the bar or not. I'll try to post up some pics later, but this is how my original setup was.

It depends on what brand neon you use. Some are better than others. Streetglow are some of the best out there. The radiator area has a 15" neon. The other two are 9"

Elik: I do drive with them on pretty often, especially on the highway. I'm playing with fire so I'm sure I'll get burned one day. Mods are just i/h/e + safc
