ok, we had a big storm in delaware with lots of rain that i had to drive though. the next day my car started making a grinding noise from the wheels, so i drop it off at toyota and they say its the wheel bearing, ok so they replace it under warrenty and give me a call back and say its not as loud as it was but its still doing, the guys said he thinks its my aftermarket rims and tires, that the tire may be getting hard and causing a grinding noise???? is this right. a friend of mine thinks that the wheel bearing could of dameged the spindle or the rotor and that it might need a new rotor. the toyota guys says that the rotors and spindles were fine.

what do you guys think? it makes a grinding noise while driving and breaking, almost like something that is spinning is loose.
i guess i will pick it up and put the stick tires back on to see if that fixes it.

sorry for being so long, what do you guys think it is?

I don't think it is the tires.

Hard to say what it is for sure. Could be damage associated with a bearing, could be a CV joint or other moving parts.

Check out the dust guard behind the rotor. If it got bent for any reason it could be rubbing on the rotor making a scraping/grinding sound. You can just pound it back with a hammer.
