how do you clean teh carpet?

on of my idiot friend spilled a large cup of soda on th floor carpet not teh mat but the carpet so you can't even take it out and wash it, what's the best way to clean it out? I got so mad at him I threw his food across the lot and almost kick the sh1t out of him!!!! but now I just need to cleanmy mat out!!!!

If you want, I have a steam cleaner you could use. I always use it on my carpet, and it comes out looking like new. Never really got any stains on the it, though.

Take him up on the offer. The spray-on carpet/upolstry cleaners only get rid of the surface dirt. The steamer will get up the deep down stain that is in the carpet backing.
