View Full Version : Body kit doesn't fit... :(

About 2 months ago I hit some black ice on my way home and had to throw my Celica into the ditch, hoping it would do the least damage. Thankfully it only broke the front body kit. Instead of keeping it TRD, I decided to get an Extreme Dimensions Blitz kit just to make mine different from the four others around me. Turns out the bolt holes don't line up at all. Should this happen? Did they send me the wrong year? I'm just pretty pissed right now that it doesn't fit. I know SOME molding would have to happen, but this is just stupid.

Thats what happens when you buy replica from a random website...you will have to do some custom fitting to get it to fit correctly, Iv seen kits that had to be chopped in half, shortened or lengthed by whatever amount and fiberglassed back togeather in order to fit. If you wanted something different I would v pm'd Jintei, he has the best fitting replica kits...

You end up putting the money you save buying a replica piece into making the piece work.
I learned my lesson too, except I haven't paid for my bumper. It's been a year and it's still not done. Now, I'm just going through the authentic way.

thats why you dont buy replica kits from company's that aren't reputable. Go for an authentic kit if you can, but if it's too much, buy a replica from some place that sells kits proven to fit, like Jentei (david).

Your talking front bumper only? Post pics of how far its off. You should be able to flex the front bumper over to make it fit to a certain degree. You can also move the braket that hold the two bolts a bit. Does the bumper line up with the fenders? If it doesnt youll have to have the bumper professionaly installed. If this is the cast resell the bumper and get a polyuethane one that doesnt suck (i.e. blitz style)

if extreme dimension isnt a reputable company who is selling ****ty products...why do we let them sponsor the site? Does someone make money off of the sponsors because then that would make sense a little.

See problem was we went through Toyota and got cancelled three times on a TRD front. So I finally just got fed up with them and bought that one from Andy's Auto Sport. If I had looked around a little on here, I most definetly would have bought one from Jintei :(
It's in the body shop right now and the guy said he'd make it fit the best he could, so we'll see how that works out. All else fails Jintei, you've got yourself a new customer ;).

Well I got it back today and it looks better than I thought it would. As soon as I can get some pictures of it I'll post 'em on here.
Oh, and another thing is I have sponorships with a few companies and www.bodykits.org said I will be able to get any kit they have for Celica's, but after this run in... I don't know if its worth it?
