Okay, please bare with me all.

how do i put pictures of my car on here? someone please provide me a link to purchase a ppe or hotshot header for my 2000 Celica GT. How fast is a stock GT 1/4 mile? do i need to tune my car after i install a header, cat-back exhaust, cai? since i dont have lift does my vvt-i kick in at a certain rpm? if so, what rpm? are there any intake manifolds out there for celicas? again please bare with me. this wont be the last of my posts.

I would first like to welcome you to the boards.

Your first mission would be to read some of the stickies. They will answer a LOT of your questions. Then, use the search function. It helps as well.

The Hotshot header is no longer made for the GT. You may be able to get one through the classifieds. A stock GT runs a low 16 sec 1/4, for a 5spd. You can add another second if you have an auto. You won't have to have a tune after adding I/H/E. VVTi is Variable Valve Timing w/ Intellengence, it is always on.

when you want to post a picture in the new post menu there is a insert picture here button click it and insert picture addy there
If you need a place to host your pics try photobucket or imageshack

as for GT quarter mile its uhm slow
you have a GT dont bother yourself worrying about quarter mile time

VVTI is always on it never shuts off
all it is , is just timing on your valves
but your rpm sweetspot range is about 6k+ rpm when you reach your powerband

and yes you need a slight tune after installing your new I/H/E

You've obviously never taken your celica down the 1/4mi otherwise you'd know your powerband is lower than 6k. And you don't need a tune after i/h/e, the ecu will adjust for it.

chya, you dont need it, but it does help.

I think a stock 1/4 for a GT is about high 15s to mid 16s, and that's if it's Manual, auto like he said you'd be in about 17s

Your vvti is always working, you just have the best power in the higher rpms.

Auto GT car doesnt really start to pull well untill close to 6k for me
aside from the initial jump in first gear

and id be on the safe side and get it tuned XD
when i stuck in my K&N lifetime filter that small change
made my car jump when it shifted gears
where before it didnt
took it a loooooong time for the ecu to adjust itself.
cant imagine for CAI, header and exhaust

Auto trannys for the Celica are geared horribly which is why you don't feel like your moving until the upper portion of the rpms; there is also a lack of torque. Auto GTs are lucky if they have more than 100wtq. If your tranny is jumping when it shift you made need to look at getting it looked at.

The ecu should adjust itself within a day or two. The only way to "tune" a celica is with a piggyback ecu (Emanage) or a standalone ecu (PFC)

What are the #'s for a stock GT-S 1/4? Solid 15's?

Honestly, it depends on the driver. Great driver's will high 14's, average low 15's, and below average mid - high 15's

yes it is geared poorly lol and i know its why i dont feel anything untill about 6k rpm
but i love it
love taking turns at high speeds and ebing able to keep going as
its gearing keep its in its sweetspot if i drive it right on continued sharp turns

the car has adjusted itself and hasnt jumped anymore
it only did it for a while

and 1/4 mile from what you can read on these forums is very dependant on the racer going down the trac
