I just installed the HIDs last night but now my radio will shut off every time I turn on the headlights. Anyone know what's causing that? Is it a grounding problem? Or is it my HIDs taking in too much voltage?

HIDs actually draw more current only at light off afterwhich they require less than halogens.

Which HIDs? Did you change out the fuses? And is your head unit drawing power from the stock radio power supply or otherwise?

I got the Hella HIDs and I did change the 2 fuses. I didn't have any 25 so I used 2 30 fuses. My head unit isn't stock but I don't know if it is drawing power from the stock power supply or not.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

I have no idea what could be the problem... mine works perfectly fine, and I didn't upgrade the fuses until 2 weeks after the install. :(

I was going to PM you and ask you for help cause you seem like you know what you are doing. The thing is that it doesn't happen every time I turn on/off the lights. Only happens once in a while. Really annoying!!!

I know a couple ppl did writeups of the install for this HID setup on the GP thread we all purchased these through. Did you follow any of those?

I found a good clean ground right where the headlights were bolted in, secured the ballast, and made sure the 12v relays were secured to the positive battery terminal.

Aside from that there wasn't too much else to do in this install, aside from the assembly of course. In fact, I only upgraded to 20 amp fuses. However, I still have the stock stereo in the car... perhaps that IS the source of your problem, but I have no idea how. :(

here's the thread from the GP section... some info in there, along with other ppl you may be able to PM for help.
