Kindly asking for input on primarily H&R springs for our Celicas. I've had TRD springs with stock shocks; then Tokico blues with Hotchkis TVS 1 setup. On the latest setup, love the sways, but the springs have rusted badly. Also my passenger rear shock has packed it in. I am intending to go with Koni yellows, and H@R springs. I understand H&R quality is fantastic = they should last. However, on searching before posting, I have also seen uneven reports on them. Keen to hear from actual H&R owners and their thoughts. Have to also ask how Tein S-Techs would compare for durability = they seem to be the favourite spring setup for most. (Daily conservative commuter driver driving in the salty Northeast)

Rusty springs should still work fine if they rust is just a surface layer.

I have H&R's on my car and I find the ride way better than the S-Techs. I've driven a celi with S-Techs and it was just too soft for my liking. As for the rust on the springs you should be fine, since it's just the top layer.

I checked further on the rust and also on my rear shock. Good news on both fronts, springs are good, (surface rust only) and the rear shock noise was not from the shock itself. We're good. Will continue to run the Hotchkis and Tokico blue setup. They seem to work well and I love the drop. Cheers and thanks for the responses.

Meant to also add that when I change, I'll go with the H&R setup. People that have them REALLY love them. Cheers.

I have H&R's with Koni's. I have the front set on the softest setting, and the rear a little stiffer. I like it, but I have to be careful about dips in the road or driveways. There isn't that much clearance up front with the H&R's, and if you stiffen the Koni's to compensate for it you'll understeer.

did you cut the bump stops when you installed the H&R's? I phoned H&R and they said i don't need to.

I didn't cut the bump stops. The shop that did the install wanted to, but I told them not to because the H&R install guide for our cars specifically says not to.
