This just takes the cake!!! Turbo Rav 4!!!

My soldier and I are debating on whether or not she has a turbo from the factory Rav 4.:wtf: She claims when she hits a button, a turbo light pops on the dash and the car goes faster. I have tried to explain to her that this is the overdrive button and light that shes pushing and seeing. But she insist that its a turbo.* insert muhahahahaha laugh here* She says she will take pics when she goes on leave. I don't know...maybe toyoto put a turbo on her Rav 4 and..... okok i can't even jokingly say that. Pls let her know through your comments how funny and very unlikly this turbo exists on her car, as she will be reading this thread later.

I've seen a Rav 4 with a Celica Alltrac drivetrain swapped in - they were on the same platform I believe.

I don't think it had "turbo boost" at the push of a button though :)

You know, after growing up on Knight Rider, I thought turbo meant you could jump over stuff with the push of a button, well till I was 12 at least.

Technically a push button turbo is possible with an electronically adjustable waste gate(Boost controller). But I would bet a good bit of cash that this isn't the case.

A turbo button is pretty rediculous.

But it isn't impossable that they would turbo charge RAV 4's. Although I am pretty sure that the RAV 4 isn't available from the factory with a turbo charged option, Toyota has turbocharged big slow family vehicals in the past to drive them with small engines. The Toyota Previa(Toyota's minivan), for example, comes from the factory with a 1.8 liter engine with a super charger on it.

Ah, geez, now I'm starting to have flashbacks about a turbo kit for the RAV4 (with the 5S-FE) when I couldn't find one made for my old Celica GT(5S-FE). Damn that piping :) Oh well, I have my GT-S now, it's all good.
