That kit is crap so you won't find a whole lot of people who have it.

The valving on the shocks isn't great (or adjustable) and the spring rate is soft with not much of a drop (if that's what you're looking for). It also isn't that cheap considering a set of name brand springs and nonadjustable shocks like the KYB GR-2 would clock in around the same price.

I have the Tokico kit. It's not bad at all. It will be a decent drop (1.5") but don't expect a drop like Eibach sportlines or DF210's..
Then again I can't complain for the $180 I got them for.
IMHO go with KYB AGX and Eibach sportlines.
That kit is crap so you won't find a whole lot of people who have it.
:wtf:
About the "name brand" comment, tokico makes components that are on my step dad's Ninja bike (calipers and shocks) so IDK what you mean by name brand?

i truely have no clue about suspension right now and this is my first big dive that i have to take into it because of all this

I believe the AGX are adjustable (correct me if I'm wrong), and Eibach Sportlines are springs, not coilovers. I think the drop for those are 1.8"F/2.4"R

check out the classifieds
:werd:
That's where I buy everything.
I got a cf hood and cf mid blade for trd wing for 175, shocks and springs for 180, rims with tires for 300, and other stuff I can't remeber for cheap.
I've saved at least 2 grand from 2nd hand and everything was still in great condition.

TRD shocks are made by Bilstein. Albeit more expensive, KYB or Tokico would be a better choice.
Save your money for something else.

I had the Tokico HP kit for a while, and for what I paid for it... it wasn't bad. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. The drop was sufficient for me (a little higher than when I had the hotchkis springs) But the ride was somewhat poor. I'd expect the ride quality wouldn't be as big a deal if I didn't live in New England where the roads blow goats. I switched a little while ago to GR-2s and Tein H-techs and I find this combo to be much better for roughly the same cost.

I did some investigating and it just so happens I have your old Tokico kit
The kid lied about the "3,000 miles" :jerkoff: But the suspension is still good

Ha! Go figure. Did you buy it from the guy who bought it from me?
Like you said, the kit is fine (well, it was when it left my hands), I certianly cannot complain about it when I concider the initial cost coupled with how well it has stood up over time. I think people just need to realize for that amount of money you simply cannot expect a superior suspensiopn setup performance wise. But, it's faily comfortable and provides a decent drop.

Tokico shocks arent too bad for the money. I have a set with TEIN s-tech springs. Ride quality is decent for being on 18's. For the money you can pick these shocks up for, they are pretty good.

TRD shocks are made by Bilstein.
I thought they were KYB GR2s. I have read that a number of places.
I'll rephrase my earlier assessment: the Tokico kit is great for the celica if you don't give a crap about dampening or spring rate and you just want your car lower and you don't want to pay 20-30 bucks more for something better. It seems to be the province of the cheapskate judging from the respondents here too.
Tokico makes some pretty decent setups for cars (RX7 comes to mind) but didn't do too well with the Celica kit. The probably never improved the spring rate and valving because it's cheap, it's a kit and therefore people will buy it because they think it represents more effort on the part of the seller and less on the part of the buyer.
