Well i started to notice my head light is fogging up due to moisture or some thing, so i'm going to open them up and clean it. So i might as well just paint the inside but i just don't know if i should paint it Gun metal or flat black for a silver car. Or should i just leave it the way it is.

Does anyone have any links of pictures of silver car with gunmetal or flat black head lights. or just what you think the best color to paint it to. lol thanks. :wiggle:

You're like an alter ego of me lol I know you paint the underside of them to get the ribbed look and don't prime them. I need to do mine but will have to wait till next weekend to get a wallpaper stripper gun heat thingy to open them up because we've got tiny ovens in uk. If you can wait till this weekend i'll let you know how it goes, but i'm gonna use some silver wheel/wheeltrim paint on it and hope for the best. If it goes wrong i'll do the topside in black :D but yeah any pics of anyone with a silver celi and painted headlights would be appreciated x2

I'll keep you posted on it lol I spoke to robare99 and he gave me this http://celicagarage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1185 helped a lot. Yeah paint the underside for the ribbed look, or the top for the flat look. I'm going for the ribbed look so won't prime it.. If i'm painting the underside the primer will show through instead of the paint lol I've been researching this for the past month and still think theres more i need to learn lol

id do semi flat/semi gloss, name changes depending on the brand, and paint the underside of it not the top

filet
04-20-2008, 05:58 PM
if you do it underside of it, do you need to prime it first?

Soo__Fuego
04-20-2008, 07:33 PM
no because u would only see the primer, sand it real good and use something like Trim Paint, it has a lil better adhesives so no need for primer

Lex_2k

That headlight is gorgeous I gotta do this sometime this summer. I dunno why people always go on about some of the black housing headlights these painted stock ones seem so much nicer to me. I dunno that just my opinion though

the oem hid headlight is the hotest headlight for our cars, besides the sports m headlight

Satin black over flat black blatantly. Shinier the better. After all they are lights right?

I have a black car and I'm going for a black/silver theme, it may not help in your decision to do gunmetal but you can see the "ribbed" look. I painted the underside with duplicolor vinyl/plastic paint, which if I can do right I will do my interior with to match....but here's the result, the hood is dirty so don't mind the crappy paint.

when I fix my car I'll take pictures in the daylight so you can see it better, some people think it just looks stock, since stock inner pieces are clear but...here's a random too when I put my angel eyes back in.
