I heard that most car insurance companies stopped reporting to carfax a few months ago because of having to pay diminished value claims to consumers.

Yea carfax is bullsh!t. It doesn't hurt but it doesn't help a lot. I carfaxed all my family's cars which have 30-130k miles and were bought brand new and nothing at all shows up.
