i have an 02 gt....i plan on running a full body kit on the car.i'm not sure if i will be dropping the car yet or not. i want to get my rims on and the kit to see how much of a drop i need. i'm buying rims real soon and i wanted to see if 18x8's are to wide for the car. if i can run that size rim what size tire should i run with them. any pics of 18x8's would be great(on a celica)..thanks in advance

mine is in my sig. :)
18x8 If you get the right offset, say about 35-40mm, then you will have no problem.

Exactly, I have 18x8 with 35mm offset. They're pretty close on the clearance to the fender lip but they will not hit. Like Matt says, 35-40mm offset should work. I checked the clearance behind the tire (225/35-18) and I could just get my fingers between the tire and the strut. So if you go more than 40mm, you might rub on the inside.

so if i run 215/35/18's on an 18x8 rim i won't rub........i just want to make sure because as we all know "once mounted you bought them" plus they are a package deal from performance wheel company so i can't return them once the arrive. thanks guys

Does 18x8 stick out past the wheel fenders?

thanx KiNG. the color the sky gave my car that day was GREAT! i need to take a good pic of my car with the APR wing on.

i paid $2300 total for my tires and rims. Paradas in my size are $150 each, so i guess my rims cost $1700. they are about $425 each for the rims.

They won't rub but you will be more prone to wheel damage. The tire sidewall will be stretched & your tirewear will be worse, due to a smaller contact patch. I wouldn't go less than a 225/35 to be safe.
215 w/ a 18 x 7.5 maybe.

215/35/18 on a 18x7.5 makes it so that the rim sticks just a bit past the tire... very very scary.... i'm goin 225/40 next time i think
or just 224/35.. not sure yet

Ehhh...don't want to point this out but you got ripped. I quoted out 18x8 SSR Integrals from Tire Rack with Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires for $1765 shipped, mounted, balanced... And the Pole Positions are much better tires than Paradas. Tires were $182 each, wheels $269 each, shipping was $60.

Here's my car TSW Sting wheels

hey....how can the shipping on 4 tims and tires be only $60 shipping..is that with install?? i dunno from the way you said im not sure

When you buy a wheel and tire package from Tire Rack, install and hardware is free. Most of those online places charge you an arm and a leg for install, hardware and shipping. Shipping was only $60 because they were only quoting shipping from South Bend, IN to Chicago, so about 40 miles.

oh that makes more sense....what exactly are we talking about by "install"

so should I get 17X8? that's ok right? or 17X7?

i dunno...could someone just tell me what rims size to get please....i want 17" rims, but dunno about anything else. tires or anything. no i'm not a racer..so i don't need awesome super tires for racing..just normal ones i can roll with that can fill up my gap..as in..not real flat tires.... thanks a lot guys...

Don't get 17x8...there really aren't any 17" tires that are the right size to work with an 8" wide wheel. Unless you want to go with Nitto NT555's. In that case go with 225/40-17 on a 17x8 wheel. Otherwise I'd go with either a 215/40 or 205/45 on a 17x7 wheel.

i bought the rims and tires about 1 1/2 years ago. i thought that was the price they gave me, but i actually found the receipt yesterday. the total was $2176.05. when did u get the quote on price Jesse? just curious. that's the best i could talk them down at that time, and believe me i tried. Even if i got ripped a little, i'm more than happy with what i got.

I got this quote back in April. I think the price has dropped significantly on Integrals recently since SSR is discontinuing them.

so everybody aggrees i can run an 18x8 rim with 225/40 tire? if i will order my rims. i'm f***ing going crazy trying to decide what rims i want to run and being able to run an 18x8 will give me more options in rims. thanks a lot for the helps guys

Hey is it just me, or is it just the light or the picture or whatever, but does your front end seem a bit off color compared to the rest of your car? Nevertheless I think you have got one incredible ride, is that a blitz front lip spoiler?

It's the RMM front lip spoiler.
