Hello,
Im thinking of buying the XOvision 7" double din. I was going to go with the ennon (or whatever) ebay one, but at least i can get 2 year warrenty on the XOvision one.
I have installed two of my single din decks, so i sort of know some stuff. I just need a wiring diagram and i can do it. but i guess my question is. How would i make it so it bypasses the ebrake thing?

on my friend's jvc dvd player there is a wire which suppose to be connected to ebrake. He didn't bother doing that. So, I guess, you just do not connect it...

you ground it.
For example, for the AVIC D3 - ground the brake wire, ground the mute wire, move mute pin to the slot above it... I can watch movies while the e-brake is up or down.
I'm not quite sure about your specific head unit, but to by pass the e-brake, just ground it.

^^werd, I have the AVIC D3 unit and just move the mute wire up one slot, ground it, ground and ground the brake wire...and your good to go.
And like poppasmerph said I can watch dvds and control the navigation while moving down the road.

you're golden. haha whats that mean? does that mean if im rich? if so, i wish. haha
but haha yah that was my old look, i miss it. it was digital vinyl.
But im thinking of going with a single din (the reason why is stupid) but if you want to know, i need that empty spot to hold my crap, like ipod, phone. haha
but ummm if you dont mind me asking could someone give or show me the wiring thing for the celica. like this is what i know
RED: batt power
Yellow: wait dont tell me, when you turn the car on?
Black: of course ground
Purple and purple with tracer: front speakers?
I bet thats all wrong isnt it? haha

good? at driving? of coruse :gap:
ok well i get it installed, and grounded the "break" wire. well i wrapped it around a screw and put it to the metal. but then i try playing DVDs it says "put the ebrake on to play videos" even when the ebrakes is on.
Is a Dual 7" single din. any suggestions?

hmmm... make sure the ground you used is a good ground. If anything, splice the brake wire with the ground wire:shrugs:. See if that works...:shrugs:

Ok nevermind, the codes i tried with a family guy DVD wouldnt work, but tried the codes with the Wedding Crashers DVD and it works.
haha
But there is one problem. When the screen comes out it hits the top of the dash, so i had to put about a 1" spacer to push out the unit to it wont hit, but now sticks out to much and looks funny. any one else have this problem?
Ill try send pic later today.

Ok well it borke a few days later! Booooooo! well i get what i paid for, but i returned it and sprung for a Alpine IVA-W205.
Now about the e brake bypassing? it has a foot brake also? how can i bypass it without the extra bypass harness?
Do i just ground both?

What brand was the player that broke?
And did you have any pics of your issue with the fitting of the player?

It was a Dual XDVD8181 7" single din.
and yes fitting was a problem, it hit the top of the dash, so i had to make it stick out about an inch. but it broke few days later..

Well i just installed my Alpine IVA-W205, pretty darn nice! but it sticks out. the other pics i saw on here it was pretty flush. maybe i screwed the factory brackets on wrong?
here is a pic of it sticking out.

i have never install a double din dvd player in my celica before but i know for sure your install is wrong. it shouldnt stick out that much.

should be flush, but sometimes there is not enough clearance for that to be possible

I looked in the back and it seems to have alot of room, but when i put the brackets on it goes in flush, if i change the hole placments it seems like its not suppose to bend like that. yah know? should i take pics? haha

Yeah, take some pics.....it shouldn't stick out that much at all!!! My double din is flush, and to bypass it, ground the mute wire, and the parking brake wire with your normal ground wire.
TAK4!

and to bypass it
Idk i tried to do that, but i ended up buying the PAC TR-7 and insallted it, works like a charm.
But i will take pics today

OK here are some pics,
First this is where the brackets are now, and it seems to fit perfect, it lays flush with the unit and holes match up.

Ok now this is when i move the bracket closer up, the holes dont seem to match and if I force the screws in, the bracket doesnt lay flush on the unit.

Should i not be unsing the factory brackets?

try fliping the brackets on diffrent side take left and move it to right seems like that will push it back some more
switchblade5984

looks like you need to slide it back just a 1/4 of an in and it will line up with some of the holes you only need 2 bolts per side

Should i not be unsing the factory brackets?
i just recently installed the iva-w205 into my car, i dont have any pics of it up yet, but at first mine wasd the exact same way, it stuck out maybe a few inches or something, looked terrible, but that was the only way the factory metal brackets would line correctly, then i slid it out to see what i could do and all you have to do is move the factory brackets forward slightly to the point where they will line up with 2 or 3 holes but no longer sit flush, screw them back in and it'll be fine,
thats what i had to do on mine and now it sits perfectly flush into the bezel, its very easy, i didn't even unplugg the radio, just slid it out and removed the screws, move the bracket then reinstalled the screws
good luck

I Have a simillar player installed.. it also stick out like yours. But i have no choice cuz the bottom of the player gets jammed if i line it up with the dash.
It wont open.
I hope i dont have this problem with the z2 when it gets here...

That looks right, it's not gonna be 100% perfect cause all double dins are a little different.

im not sure who makes that kit, im using the metra kit on mine, i do agree that its not 100% but mine does look far better or line up much better then yours does, you might need to drill new holes in the plastic and re-position it til you find a spot that works
