Okay guys what do I need to dynomat in the trunk area besides the back of the Lisence Plate to avoid having a rattle box when I drop in some subs in the back?

This is the only time I'll ever recommend this, but go to Ebay. I bought 36sq. ft of extreme dynamat for $60. It costs $230 at Crutchfield and other stereo stores. It was enough to cover my doors, trunk, roof, floor and rear panels. Just about everything. I highly recommend it.

ya what he said
do the inside of the quarter panels (they will flex & rattle like a mofo if you are pushing some decent power)
where the jack and that stuff is as far forward as you can reach, the floor of the trunk & spare tire well, the back "wall" (part beneath the hatch, between the tail lights.
it helps a TON

Dynamat the whole car. Its definately worth it. Dont want to lose any sound pressure

I did the whole car (except footwells) with 100 sq ft in mutiple layers. Tightened up the premium system quite a bit and it sounds better than some aftermarket systems that are thrown together.
red = 3 layers
yellow = 2 layers
green = 1 layer

Is it hard to dynamat the car??? It looks easy to me. The other day I went to "Good Guys" and the salesman told me to have the trunk dynomated it would cost around $280 for the material and insatallaition.

It isn't difficult at all, but it is time consuming if you do it right.

If you can operate scissors and a small roller then you can apply it. Not an exact science, but I took my time because I'm anal. As long as you get it smoothed out without any air bubbles underneath it's good. You don't need the pieces lining up exactly and overlapping is ok too.
roller:

Roller, Heatgun, and some scissors, not hard at all. just take your time and be patient. Saves lots of $$$ than having it done at a shop. Gives you time to bond with your car

use RAAM mat. thats what me and bme both used. its like his pics above. that stuff is top notch. you can get it into all the cracks easily, and its cheap too. its like dynamat extreme for 1/4 the price. 62 sq ft. for 100 bucks. i used 2 rolls, it looks like he used 3.

At the time Rick was selling 50sqft rolls and I used 2.

well damn how'd you get so many layers? i did less coverage and basically one layer and i don't think i'll have that much. i donno i have a good half a roll and only have one door left to do so maybe i'll have enough to go back and do more layers.
HEY DOES YOUR CAR SMELL? HOW LONG TIL IT GOES AWAY! my car stinks.

It was a different mat back then, but sq ft is sq ft and I got the coverage shown above out of 100sq ft total. I was very anal with it and didn't overlap the pieces if I could help it. (unless they were in multiple layer areas, of course)
That smell that hits you as soon as you open the box goes away in a few days, week tops. Leave your windows down a crack if you can. Mine only smells like Lexol products now. :)

well i overlapped it a lot but put it on real tight in the cracks, like, making sure it was on the metal all the way to the bump of the piece it overlapped. so i kinda have two layers with all the overlapping. i still have a lot left i guess, i was afraid i'd run out, but i think i'll have plenty more. mine's just a little thicker than yours but its the same stuff.
