Guys I was trying to change my Gauges to the TRD Silver Guages. Everything was going fine. I was using a flat screwdriver to raise the needles to take it off when the first one clipped and it looked ok. Then the same thing happened to the second one. I took a closer look and realized that the metal part that goes into the cluster appeared to have broken into it. Any idea what I can do. I put the whole thing back together but neither needles work. What could I do? If I was to take this to the dealer how much do you think he would charge. This is so frustrating. Its one thing or the other with this car. If I'm not getting hit by another car, their's something internally wrong or I mess up with something. Feeling really tempted to put the whole car back to stock and just cut my losses.

man i know where you're coming from believe me about the cutting losses. i'm not sure exactly by the description what you mean. but toyota will rob you. bad. maybe if you're lucky you can make it look like you haven't touched it and they'll order you new gauges. that'd be nice. if not, try a gauge calibration/repair place first because the gauges cost like 800. i doubt they'd do anything for you but replace the whole entire gauge. try david draper.

damnit!!
I glued them on so their in place but not moving. I took my trd gauges off and cleaned up any signs of work had been done on the gauge so if need be I could ask them to reorder me new ones but I have this bad feeling their going to say its not covered under warranty.

Damn. I know how that feels. When I took apart my gauges for indiglo overlay, it was like holding on a POS plastic worth 800 bucks. Felt scary working around it. Good luck man.

Try pointing your needles to the UP position to slide the gauge faces over... I've worried about busting the needles before - but after the first 6 gauges that I've changed for different friends, this seems to be the best method
if you've already broekn your needles, check out the alteratives... try those "GLOWING NEEDLES" Kit... I think that "00celicaruss" can help you with that project :)

I just painted my needles today. If you use the 'two spoon' method to get the needles off, you should be fine. if there is a little metal needle inside the needle when you have it off in your hands, you're SOL.

i like your led's better than skunk killers. Skunk uses these thin string like led's like on my cell phone. Your's are the same size LED's right? The big square things right? if so..i'll think about changing my led's to your because i don't think mine are outputting a lot of light. might just get the led's for my needles..i'll pm you when i get annoyed by my needles. =)
