No, there is no such thing as a Prelude Type R. Not even in Japan.

Ahh, yes....the ultimate rice. MAKE UP your own new high performance trim level, THEN plaster the stickers on your car.

thats rediculous. Why do Honda owners badge the Type R everywhere... not a flame honda guys... just want to know what the obsession is. Also in my parking lot at work there is a Civic that has window Viynl that says SkyLine GTR and on the back it Says Civic GTR. Why?

i've seen the same thing on a accord 2dr v6 (they did make a accord type r but it was a 4door, 4cyl., but never shown in the states) guy lives down the road from me, nice looking accord, but that type r badge just kill's it, i think. also he's added a acura symbol on the front were the "h" was... :ugh: oh well.

well the highest prelude in the us is the prelude type SH (super handeling) its nothing big either..i beat one with my car....
well in japan the highest prelude you could get was called the prelude SiR which is pretty badass..i dont think that generation prelude had it,i think it was the generation before it that had the SiR...that SiR engine isnt somthing to f*ck with ..2 of my friends have this swap in thier cars..on has it in her prelude..and someone has it in thier del sol....this engine puts out almost 230 hp stock....well if anybody in the NJ PA /NY area ever sees a blue del sol with a kit on it(dont know which on) near the jersey shore..DO NOT try and race him..he is putting out almost 460Hp to the wheels....hes got the SiR swap with turbo and a 100 shot of nitrous....ive seen many exotics get a beating from him....lol...well just my 2 cents...lata

Big deal...you beat one in a drag race. The Type SH is heavier than the base Prelude, so it's 1/4 mile times are usually a little slower. Did you try to out handle one? My guess you'd probably lose.

I thought it was only like 68 lbs heavier? Not to much of a differenceif you ask me

He didn't want to play much though..

Of course. Do you even know what makes a car a Type R? It's a lot more than the engine. An engine swap does not a Type R make.
What if someone imports a civic type r and puts the badge on there??? :D well besides the point... I forgot what I was going to say... oh yeah miata + altezza's = :puke:

actually yakko they say the type SH is great and all
but many ppl still prefer a REAL limited slip as opposed to their active handling system which simulates a rwd car by electronic control.
its neat, but still is no match for a lighter, well set up fwd car with an LSD
the computer control was not liked very much by many drivers.
ive driven both

I haven't had any good track driving with the ATTS, but I have heard the same comments about the mechanical LSD being better. I would prefer one as well. Having driven a car with an LSD for two years, I can say there are times I think the computer controlled one would be better. But overall, I think the regular one will perform better. Some situations require faster response time than a computer would respond. Other times, a computer controlling how much each wheel spins would be an advantage.
