Powerlots (cryos are slightly better) and DBA if you have money. I love super blue but those ATE rotors are so dumb looking I could never pull the trigger on them.

BTW, anyone know what the stock thickness is for both the Front and Rear rotors are?

I'm wondering if I need new rotors.. I have like 115k miles on my stock rotors ...
My brakes recently do not feel like they were last year... it use to be super responsive and strong... I still have a lot of brake pad left and I re-bleed my brake system just two days ago and cleaned all brake parts.

The feeling I get is like driving with a full car load and trunk full.. the feeling that the car keeps running and the need to brake more is required..

In all honesty, you would be better off with some cheap OEM style blanks from the online distributers. You can get front and rear for cheaper than a front set of anything from Tire Rack or anything cryo from anywhere.

You can paint the hats with any high temp. spray when you get them and also save a load of hassle.

The blanks will hold up well depending on the pad choice and driving habits.

Concentrate on a better pad compound.

I'm assuming you don't track or knock over cones, so 50,000 miles (2-3 years) is good from them and that's being conservative.

Don't waste your money on the "cryo-treated" rotors for a daily driver unless you want to throw money away.

I've been hearing from others that even the cheap $20 buck rotors are fine... Its just a piece of steel?

yea i've seen some vented ebay ones just crack in half, others are not hub centric so they warp and then crack, some are just not the same thickness all the way around. you can get a trust name brand for decently cheap like thor talked about

I would recommend DBA if you had the money. We have DBA Slotted on the front and they are better then the OEM Discs as they started cracking after 30,000kms as the car doesn't get driven around that much...

Cheers.

I'm now looking for new rotors as my pads ate my rotors for lunch today.

For the daily drive/autocross set, I'll probably get cheap blanks.

For the track-only set...I'll probably get cheap blanks. No sense spending $120 per rotor when your pads will feast on them like nobody's business. Would consider trying the cryos though, as hopefully they might last a little longer. Every track veteran out there has told me that my application will not benefit from slotting. Some of them run blanks themselves.

I use the ATE rotors on my wife's Celica and they work great! I didn't buy them for looks, I bought them because they are a great quality rotor from previous experience. I had them on my veedub years ago and when I found out they had them for my wife's car. I bought them without a second thought.
