some help?

i think my engine has a missfire going on. my dad is most likely going to take it in to his shop since he is a toyota tech but im very impatient so its killing me to know whats wrong with it. last week i started hearing a noise, slight but hearable. didnt think much of it since the rest of the car ran great and the lift still works, and no cel came on. well today on my way to my brothers house my car started that noise again, and the exhaust started gurgling real badly. the tachometer kept going down and up almost stalling it. what could it be cause its killing me not knowing until my dad takes it in. i havent misshifted it cause im real careful about that. i do have a aem cai and i havent cleaned the filter in awhile so i dont know if that is it. but it does sound like a missfire. anybody know what it could be. my dad thinks an injector or some other things. its just pissing me off. any help would be great

sounds like you are going to have to wait. What kind of noise is it? can you be a bit more specific.

like a card in a bike spoke (sp??) kinda like that. it does sound like a missfire cause i had a problem before like this where i had to replace my whole cylinder head and a couple valves. never did find out what went wrong cause i had never misshifted before in my car. but back then it was missfiring but my cel had came on. this time it is acting weirder cause no light came on and the way it is idling.

well cel came on just now on my way home from seeing my brother and then when i went to see my gf at her house it came on. everytime i come to a stop the tach drops to a 100 rpms and almost stalls. it is puttering pretty bad. what could it be?
