I need a picture to post up to this other site I'm viewing. There this one guy in there claiming that honda is the most reliable car there is on the road. Quote"i believe a honda/acura is a better and more reliable than any other car, and i have proof of that my old honda accord has 312,689 miles on it and the engine has never been rebuilt and it still runs."

I remember someone on here has a picture of their or someone else car going over 100,000 miles within one or two years. If it you please post it up or email it to me, thanks.

Really, I don't think anyone has run a current gen Celica above 200k...at least to the best of my knowledge. Keep in mind that the current generation of Celicas has only been out for a couple of years.

I think both Honda and Toyota make reliable engines. I have bought several with over 150,000 miles. My Civic that I sold has 212,000 miles and ran like brand new, and my Prelude has 234,000 now and runs fine. For toyota - I know several people that have old pickups with over 300,000 miles. One has over 400,000 miles.

Wow, you visited the site also. Seeming that your from dallas, how do you come about to the site.

I wanted the picture because I want to show this guy that not honda can make a reliable car. There are also other company beside honda that can make a reliable cars.

M yfather's 85 SAAB 9000 has been around for 225k+ and it's still running like a champ. I hope my Celi lasts half that long. I have every reason to believe that it will.

Haha.. Honda/Toyota are THE reliable cars...
My 1994 Camry has gone over 150k.... still got some good feeling to it... I abused it alot.. so it lost lot of power but still runs really good.......

The page still says it's a 1.8 million mile Volvo but it already passed 2 million miles. The engine was rebuilt once at 680,000 miles. I'd like to see any Japanese car come close.

That's exactly what I was gonna say. Toyota and Honda make very very reliable engines, but Volvo has em beat with their million mile turbo deisel I believe. Just think about that, even ONE million is more then I can contemplate

I have over 400,000 miles between 2 of my vehicles. And 14,000 on my truck. :)

my bosses 87 toyota 4wd truck has 180,000 miles and runs pretty good, we use it for work. Another friend of mine has a mid 80's toyota diesel truck with over 250,000 so far. Both have had only minor problems such as clutch slave cylinders (both of the trucks) and the diesel blew a head gasket around 200K miles. If you really want a pic that bad i'll try and get one of each..... Well i know i can get one of the work truck.

my friend's 93 Mazda B2200 pickup had 240k miles on it when he sold it and he didn't do shyt to take care of it. I think we did a tune up maybe three times in the whole time he owned it, and I know for a fact he never changed the oil. We used to drive around, and when it'd start ticking we'd just run to a 7-11 and throw in a couple quarts. As soon as we threw in the oil it'd run perfect. I think he just let the old oil burn off or something, haha. In fact, the last time his car was running rough, we took the plugs out and found the tips to be nearly burnt off.

No major repairs had ever been done, aside from clutch replacement. That thing was awesome... never did see a vehicle take so much of a beating and keep running like a champ. And I saw how he took care of it from the time he rolled it off the lot new. Wow. We used to call it the beach beater, because we'd throw all our surfboards in it and go all over the island looking for waves.

There's something to be said for a vehicle that was taken care of, and then another with an owner who beat the shyt outta it and is still running strong past 200k.

Bah - a couple million miles on a deisel doesn't impress me. Rig drivers do simple MAINTENANCE overhauls at 1 million. Dodge uses cummins turbo motors in their trucks that regularly exceed 1 million and thats taking truck level abuse... Mind you I DO think Volvo builds a good car, I'm just not that impressed by high mileage deisels.

My 1st car was an 82 celica with a 22r...260miles when i sold it...never was rebuilt..I put a new clutch and a carb on it and sold if for 1100 after I had it for about 2 years....It burned a bit of oil but aside from that, it ran great, even the ac worked....

My 2000 Celica GT-S has 172000 km which is over 100000 miles.

The only things i had to change were the brakes and the exhaust manifold gasket. My clutch is starting to die and my suspension is not very stiff anymore. Everything else is A1.

Hope this helps.

My mom's 93 Toyota Camry V6 XLE engine's went bye bye at 57k miles 2 years ago. The car was purchased brand new back in 93, never abused and always up to date on maintenace. (*as you can see from the mileage, she drove it very little*) My mom took in on a long trip and engine decided to overheat and go bye bye. Talk about bad luck.

My 01 Celica right now with 18k miles is well, still fine...but runs with no power sometimes...........but runs perfect when cold.......

My family has the worst luck with Toyotas.

My 94 Integra GSR sedan with 110k miles runs perfect, as well as my sister 92 Accord...........Go figures.....Hondas.......

my friend's 93 Mazda B2200 pickup had 240k miles on it

Isn't that a ford ranger?

My dad has a 92 toyota pickup with 230k and still running strong. My mom has a 95 v6 camry with 165k, and still goin strong even after the abuse of me and my brother driving it before we got our own car.

mickey513,
that's odd about the camry, I think thats is the same 3.0l engine they use today in the camry and all the other camry based cars & suv and that engine is known to be rock solid?

My friend has a 250K+ 95 Camry V6 and I have a 91 Camry LE V6 with 121K + miles. Both still run like new.

Yeah the 1MZFE is used is all the Lexus lines as well. It is a proven rock solid engine.

However in 93, Camrys used the cast iron 3vzfe engine. That engine was phase out as it is more expensive to produce than aluminum block engines.
