Just sold my 2004 Ford Expedition due to obvious reasons. Seriously considering a 1997 Honda Prelude SH 5-Speed. Anyone had experience with one? Also, i was wondering if anyone knew what MPH it hit in the 600 foot slalom and what it's skid pad is. I found a really clean one in my area with 100,000 miles, clean title, for $6,500. KBB value for it is $7,200. I was also wondering how well it responds to mods such as basic bolt-ons (I/H/E). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

they're pretty solid. besides its weight, I can't really complain about anything else. I sell my Celica for it.

the SH is a must with those cars - it transforms the vehicle completely.

I had a 98 and loved it. had some tranny issues that were eventually taken care of but other than that, great car...kinda miss it

I just bought my wife a AT 98 base. Heavy car but over all I'm happy about iti and so is she. Good handling despite of its weight but not really a gas saver.

and your sig is going to get moderated pretty quickly with something mean posted by a mod - you can only have one image, 250x500 max size

Try telling that to the others and not get a sassy reply from them. :faint:

I like the last gen Preludes. Really love that body style; so clean. SH is heavy (well both trims are) but that H22 really responds nicely. I'd get one, preferebly in white or Jade.

Everyone keeps saying the car is heavy - at 3000 lbs with a 2.2L engine making 200 hp, its pretty much par for the course - remember, the car is a GT (basically a hopped up Accord Coupe), not a sports car.

The ATTS sounds pretty badass. I still haven't been able to find any specs on the stock handling performance. Anyone know what it's skid pad is nad what it does in the 600 foot slalom?

those will vary based on tires, suspension etc - and they won't tell the story with the ATTS - a full lap time should

The ATTS allows a FWD car to get on the throttle sooner by accelerating the outside front wheel, thus kind of pushing the car all the way through the turn - its an active yaw control.

Not trying to revive this, but isnt the base H22A Vtec >>> over the SH? I thought it was concluded in one of my race stories that the Type SH (handing package?) is just extra, unnecessary weight?

as far as drag racing goes...SH is pretty useless dead weight

Thanks Memphis. I know that the GTS' low weight makes it pretty flickable in corners, reason I ask is a buddy's looking for a 'lude and was wondering which would be a better choice.

the SH is worthless if you're just going to go in a straight line

if you ever plan on turning your car, the SH is worth its weight in gold.

I had a 01 Base. Chose the base because I had every intention to autox the car, which I did. Before buying the car, the consensus was that the SH with ATTS would be finicky at the autox especially when you plan to modify the car, especially if you intend to supercharge or turbocharge the car. But for a daily driver, if you can find a SH, go for it.

The girlfriend has a 1998 SH with a Greddy Evo II exhaust and a K&N drop in, it's a blast to drive, handles very well through the corners.
It's a dog in straight line acceleration though, close to being on par with a bolt on GT :chuckles:

They look good, perform well, and are decent quick.

The GF's.....
