i got no other car... so now i dont really have a choice :( i just can't believe i gotta be doin this for a whole week, lol. way too many people staring! its funny though, cuz i think some people think thats the way the car is suppose to look. and geez, the us version blitz rides so freakin low on stock rims... never knew that. its my first time to have such a low car, and boy does the thing scrape everywhere... even on my driveway...

take it off and put ur freaking stocks back on. =)...jk...i think its funny. then get a sign and write on it.."this is a rice thing to do, please do not copy me. i'm only doing this to prove a point." and when you see another car with it..start laughing and pointing..and get other people to point. its really fun. ok..anyways...

ok, wait, i actually don't get that response... the kit looks rice, or riding around with it unpainted looks rice? cuz if you say the second reason, i agree most definitely! if i had any other choice, id ride around in a different car, but to save time for the weekend when i get it painted, i just told him to keep it on. having only one car sucks, so im stuck. like banana_ryce said, maybe i should put that sign on it... or else i might see others doing the same thing on PURPOSE lol.

well riding around with it unpainted unless u are waiting for it to get painted, is kinda lame. if you can't afford to paint the kit, don't put it on, same with the people riding around with primer on their paint... freakin' a ! looks like poop ...

like previously stated, my only car, so to save time for next weekend, i just told him to keep it on, no point in taking it off, then putting the stock ones on when he has to take it off anyway. just 5 more days... geez this is killing me... but then again, i just love people reactions cuz i know they think it looks like crap, i agree with them, it does look like crap, but i can't wait for the final stage though, its going to look pretty sweet!

fun....is that all fiberglass? didn't want the urethane front?

IcedOut

all fiberglass, ive heard a lot about the arguments of urethane and fiberglass, and i think id rather go with the fiberglass becuase its cheaper for me to get, and to fix it in my opinion isnt much harder than if it was urethane, but honestly, the major reason i got it that way was because of price, 600 for whole thing shipped

You know that before your situation if you saw someone driving with an unpainted kit on their car, you'd think  ... and with good reason. It looks really bad. As for your situation, you should have organized with a paint shop to install and paint all in the same process so the unpainted, but (hesitate) installed look does not see the light of day. In the interim, ride a bike (like I did for a week), take the bus, rent a car, or borrow a beater from a friend or relative.

i actually borrowed my brother's car for a day, and about getting the things straight with the body shop, i'm actually not going through a body shop, i know someone that will do it for me real cheap and its just been raining a lot, for the past 3 days actually, and he can't paint it at all. i talked to him on friday and he said he could still take the car becuase it might not rain anymore, so i brought him the car, and then it just poured the whole time. just my luck i guess... maybe its a sign

Hopefully your hook-up does a professional job; otherwise, this ordeal will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Why pay for a pro? Get a great looking paint job with perfect color match and no overspray...the kit fits like its stock...drop the car off on "a" date and pick it up on "b"...if there is something wrong, its their job to bend over backwards to please. Sure it costs more, but I prefer the confidence I get dealing with a pro.

Regardless, I hope your paint goes well. Post a few pics when its finished.

ill be sure to keep you guys posted on it, next weekend it should be done if the weather holds out. the guys works for a body shop anyway, and ive seen the cars hes worked on, and talked to the people that owned the cars. to me, hes got a pretty good rep., so hopefully itll stay that way.

Very true...

I think its whack to sport an unpainted kit for whatever reason. And from the look of the pix, you arent getting any side skirts? I hope you are, coz cars look extremely :gay: with no sides and huge front and rear bumpers...

Good luck.

i didn't get the sides put on yet, i have them but i tried putting them on and the left side skirt looked a little longer than the side of the car, like 1/4 of an in, so he's gotta fix it before he puts it on

I don't see why you put any of it on unpaited .... if you want it done right they need to be spray off of the car so it does not leave a hard line. so it looks like you are doing the rice thing because you were to impatient to see it on the car painted and wanted to cruise unpainted with a new body kit. just my .02

yeah professional jobs are really worth it for sure. I had a place do mine and the red is just a slight hair off color... but it still looks fine though but I mean i'll be forking over some money eventually to repaint most of it... pro's are the way to go

My place gave me three very slightly different versions of 3P0 to pick from before install. I picked then I told the pro to pick. We picked the same. I knew after that it was a match. Now it looks great.

actually, with it unpainted, its really showing me the places i can and cannot go, so now after i do get it painted, i know the spots not to go on, which would save me some scraping of the paint. maybe im just trying to find somethiing good with what i did... lol. but yeah, thanks for all the responses, some have been funny with what they have said, others have been very informative. to all those that have responded and gave their opinion, thank you. by next week ill post the pics of the final product...
