So I got a trip across the US coming up and I was wondering if I should put in my stock airbox instead of my short intake. Do you think my car would be running better for the long trip being stock?

thanks

A SRI can actually improve your gas mileage :)

If the car's running fine now, keep it on. Just clean the filter and MAFS before you go.

Keep in mind that paper filters (the one that is in the stock air box if you didn't swap it out for a K&N or TRD) usually filter better than most cotton gauze or foam filters. This, however, results in reduced air flow. Pick your poison!

if you had a CAI I would say swap back to stock, however with an SRI you have no change of hydrolock, so nothing to worry about.

I would agree with BB, and just make sure your filter is clean and clean your MAF.

Also make sure you have a fresh oil change, fluids topped off, and your spare tire and jack.

Good luck!
