well, i just took off mine because they're going to be painting my car tomorrow(from being keyed) and it left an outline of the decals on the door.
i cant get it out with rubbing alcohol or anything i have.
what should i do?
im not worried about the drivers side door because ther're repainting that side.
should i ask my bodyshop to buff it out when i take it in tomorrow?
its not really too noticable and i've had the stickers on there for about 4 months...
thanks

I would ask them to buff it out.

Curious question. If they are painting the drivers side only, why did you take off the passenger side sitckers? Just wondering.

because they have to take off the stickers and everything on the drivers side to paint it.
i took off the passenger side because when i get my car back i wont have the decals on the any side.
i had to take off the stickers because of my car getting keyed on my door and rear panel...

if its glue, use WD-40, it will pull the glue right off, just wash it off thoroughly after you get the glue off

WD-40 will strip the glue in seconds

chico=ass:)

well the guy from the body shop said because i just took off the stickers yesterday it has swells...
he said it will go down a lot more.
does this make sense?
i mean i took all the glue and everything off.
but you can see the outline of the words still if you try to look for it.
he said give it a week or two and it should go down and he'll buff it out if its not gone by then.

sounds like the paint on the rest of the car weathered and the paint under the stickers didn't. if you get a good body shop to buff that out, you shouldn't be able to get it to blend pretty good.

If anyone ever needs any graphics or decals done to their car give me a call. I work at a place called TRAIL BLAZERS Auto and Truck Accessories and I am their graphics man. We can make just about anything you want. So give me a call at 1-800-577-7333 ext. 1380 (and my name is TOM) or just check us out on the web at www.caraddons.com. Hey and I might also be able to help you with your little removal problem. I work 6 days a week (off on sundays) from 9am-6pm eastern time. Feel free to call me anytime.

the guess i ahve is that your paint around the sticked faded....A black car's paint is constantly fading as sun beams down on its surface. When you covered up that small area with a sticker the sun was not able to penatrate and get to the paint to fade it. Thats my only guess....
(sorry for bad grammar, spelling, and all that i'm lazy.)

why would the body shop tell me that the area with the stickers was swelling and will go down over the next few weeks?
is that right?
i waxed my car a lot with zaino so i dont think my car faded.
it might of though...

Same thing happened with my "super street" sticker. Just get a bug and tar remover and you're set.

X-Evil-X your paint has probable faided a little bit since you have had the stickers on there. I have used Goo-Gone to get the sticky stuff off of the car before and it works real good. You will have to wax the door again. I have never heard of paint doing what your shop said. My best friends dad has been painting cars for 35yrs. mostly Hot Rods and he said just use some type of solvent to remove the sticky stuff also. If I was you and you could afford it I would get the rest of the car painted. I just stripped mine completely down and repainted it and it was a big difference in the paint from before. Toyota paint SUCKS!!! I even keep mine in a garage and have been using 3M Imperial Glaze since day one. Anyway try the Goo Gone first if you can it will not hurt the paint but you will need to rewax the door after words to try and help put a protective seal on the door again. If you need to buff the door make sure you do not see swirls afterwards. A good shop will be able to buff a car and not leave swirls. Good Luck on getting it painted and make sure they tape the car out real good.

When I took off my GTS and Toyota Emblems off my rear it "swelled" and until just now I know what the bodyshop is saying. it will go down man. down worry. it was swelled up for about 2 weeks. it went down.
