I'm about to scrap all efforts and have the damn car towed somewhere to have the brakes bleeded. Heres the deal!
We have been trying to bleed (whenever we have time) for over a month now, with NO luck. First there was air in the lines, we found out the bleeder cap was sucking in air through the threads. So trying to jimmy rig it, we used some teflon tap on the screw. Thats fixed that, no more air. To this day, not a bubble, MAYBE 1 small microscopic bubble, comes out sometimes when we gravity bleed them.
We reseached and asked a friend, he said the master cylinder may have air in it. So we un-did the two lines and depressed the brake slowly, first ALOT of air, almost no liquid came out, then some liquid. He put his fingers on the two holes as I released the brake pedal to keep air from going back in. Repeated 4 times.
We are trying the master cylinder again tomorrow several times. The main problem is that when the car is off, as in not running, the brake is VERY firm. Once we start the car, it is a limp noodle; absolutely no resistence, almost as if there was no fluid in the lines at all.
Any tips? Pointers? Comments? I'm lost, and personally just wunna drive the blasted car already.
