I can understand if this rule is in place because the dbase takes a pounding but it is very frustrating.

I also believe it causes people to give up on the search function and post redundant messages over and over.

Like "what's the best intake" or "what's the best exhaust"

I am doing a search right now for a very specific item. I am using very specific terms to narrow my search and when I get results that are just not right, I click back so I can search again and I get slammed.

I search on a lot of sites and this limit is not in place.

Would it be possible to bring it down to 15 seconds or something like that?

Also what sucks is you cant search for 3 - letter words like AEM, CAI, HIN, LSD, etc. The search criteria has to be 4 or more letters. Sigh.

:werd:

that is another thing I forgot to mention. the 3 letter thing always bites me in the ass as well.

Not bitching... I just really think this would curb alot of the stupid redundant questions.

Yea the 60 second search rule is a pain in the butt. The 3 word/letter search sometimes limit the way you search.

the minimum letter search is 3 if it was any lower it would put such a strain on the webserver it would not be good..

and the one search every 60 seconds is in place to keep people from trying to crash the webserver. Searching the database is actually one of the more intense operations Vbulletin has to do and if alot are done over and over again it will severely drain the cpu resources hence the reason you can only do one every 60 seconds. Anyhow I backed it down to 45 seconds to speed it up a lil bit for ya..
