hi, i got my tranny replaced in my 2000 gts a couple months back and today while i was driving relatively hard, my 2nd 4th and 6th gear became to feel "different". 1st 3rd and 5th were fine but the "back gears" didnt have that crisp sort of feel when i shifted into them and 4th a couple of times wouldnt engage. they feel like they could very easily pop out but they dont when pressure is applied to them while driving. my friend said it was a possibel shifter linkage problem. there is also a wierd clinking noise that occurs when i shift into these gears he said that i need to get undr the car and look for a loose nut or something. i need this fixed now cuz my celica is my daily driver. please help.

The Celica uses two shift cables, you could have stretched or frayed the one that takes the front to back movement.

It's also possible the rubber shifter bushing has torn, or become unseated.
