I'm a Marine in tuner heaven right for the next three years (Japan) and was wondering if anyone knows if a SR20DET will fit in my Celica back home? If so, I'll cruise around in a sweet Silvia and then yoink the engine before I leave. An SR20DET in a Celica would be a pretty good "sleeper".

you would probably need the sr20det of one of the fwd platforms not the rwd, but it wouldnt seem logical to do

I've got a 04 GTS. I came close to selling it, since I'll be over here for three years, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It's almost like family. You guys know; great mileage, handles good, low maintenance. On the other hand, if I could bring back a Skyline GTR (legally), that would be another matter. BTW Just for you guys to drool, you can get 2JZ-GTE Supra over here for 8-10 grand. The downside, obviously, is the legal hurdles of bringing it back!

you get it for 8-10 grand there because the people there aren't blind fanboys and realize paying 30k for a car over a decade old with 80k+ miles, is just stupid. I have no doubt the Japanese laugh there ass off at the prices people here will pay for their old **** they throw away

It could be done. Could it be done for less than 10k? Probably not. Anything is possible with enough money.
