Question about tire stretching??

Does the actual tire width depend on the rim or the tire? 18x8 and 18x7.5. Will the 8" width "rim" stretch the tire out more in width as opposed to the 7.5"

it all depends on the width of the tire on the rim.... say you went with a 215-35-18 it's going to fit the 7.5 alot better than the 18x8 while it will still fit both on the 8in wheel it will be slightly streched to fit however if you go with a 225-35-18 it will fit the 18x 8 perfect
